Hi Theresa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
As the founder of After the Rain, I would like to tell you a little about myself…I’m a Child of God who has been set free through the power of the cross. For many years as a Christian, I was in bondage feeling as though there was no way out of my circumstance or freedom from the pain within. The Lord heard my prayers and systematically took me through a process of healing to set me free! He then gave me a heart to walk others into His arms and freedom!

For you see, even though I proclaim the good news, I can’t take the credit for my labors, for I am compelled to fulfill my duty by completing this work. It would be agony to me if I did not constantly preach the gospel!
We are a Nonprofit Christian Counseling and Resource Center Offering HEALING and TRAINING to God’s Beloved Children.
The ATR Family (Staff) are Children of God who have been SET FREE by the LOVE of JESUS through the POWER of the Resurrection. We walk Wounded Souls into Freedom by encountering Jesus INTIMATELY to LIVE the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth & we TRAIN the children of God as KINGDOM WARRIORS to be armored up to fulfill their CALL to ready the Bride for JESUS coming.
We TRAIN individuals from different church bodies and ministry/missions organizations all over the states as Biblical Counselors to be equipped as Warriors of God, to then empower their own home church body or ministry to LIVE effective in fulfilling The Great Commission.
Our BIG DREAM is to be a hub within each church/ministry in Jesus Christ throughout the states and into the rest of the world.
Many Believers are in bondage and feel as though there is no way out of their circumstances or freedom from the pain within, BUT the Lord HEARS the beloved’s CRY and HE ANSWERS.
We have created a safe place to be honest and vulnerable, allowing God’s people an opportunity to open their hearts to be encountered by the Lord; resulting in healed hearts and transformed lives. We address what is in the heart that has caused deep seeded pain and is now producing corrupt fruit by assessing the rooted issues that have caused unhealthy belief systems, harmful coping mechanisms and a life apart from the light of God’s Word. We uncover the pains of the past, allow feeling the pain alongside Jesus, digging out lies of the enemy and replacing them with His truth.
We do three main things: We host souls into a greater revelation of their intimacy with Jesus, how to walk in their full inheritance of Heaven here on earth and how to live a life commissioned to give Heaven away.
We equip our clients (disciples) to grow deeper in the Revelation of the knowledge of the beautiful God/Man Jesus through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and the living Word of God to therefore empower them to live in a constant state of their inheritance.
JESUS RESTORED what was lost —Intimacy and Empowerment! We have only two choices as Christians: We can lay down and die, or we can Fight to Win!

Broken hearts create broken lives! But God!
Psalm 147:3 says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I see our team as Freedom Fighters!
It’s been nothing but a smooth road; the fight of faith is absolutely real when you are helping people get back what the enemy has stolen through broken hearts that lead to broken relationships, addictions, identity issues, and all kinds of hurts and pains. But the cries of God’s beloved has had a far greater impact and drive to push us past the obstacles and into the Victory of winning souls back for the glory of God. If He did it for us, He will do it for you!
The victory comes through believing He accomplished it ALL on the cross at Calvary.
Matthew 16:26
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Soul Freedom can be yours!
John 8:36
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Licensed Counselor, Ordained Minister who holds a Master’s degree in both Behavioral Health and Divinity in Pastoral Counseling. I am a State Certified Codependence & Addiction Specialist, Certified Marriage and Family Specialist, Life Education Instructor, and Conference Speaker. I have had the privilege in the last 15 years to work one-on-one with hundreds who were struggling and witness their lives be radically changed and set free. I have taught hundreds of men and women how to overcome life’s challenges and have had the joy of equipping and training leaders to be Biblical Counselors and Ministers of the Gospel who effectively now counsel with the Word of God that sets us free! With over 25 years of ministry serving the body of Christ, I truly believe that the best gift is to see victory and freedom in those I have been able to help.
What sets us apart as a Counseling Ministry is that we genuinely care for each client that we have the honor to invest in. Therefore, we are compelled as Counselors to train our clients on how to be counseled by the True Counselor, the Holy Spirit who lives inside of them so they are not reliant on counseling sessions to live a life of freedom. Our counseling sets up our clients to be able to live the rest of their life not dependent on counseling sessions but on how to be counseled everyday by the Holy Spirit.
