Today we’d like to introduce you to Til Doomsday (Aiyana Rose)
Hi Til, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Around spring of 2022 I decided to do a local art walk presenting myself & art as “Til Doomsday” , I was proud of my paintings. Using acrylic paint was a new medium for me, it felt different from drawing or graphic art, Since I was very young I would draw and mimic my favorite artists or create art based on music and progressive movements. After consistently doing small markets in my hometown, I was featured in 2 local publishings. Since then I have created work for my favorite music artists, participated in gallery exhibits, worked as a live painter for events and created value in my brand.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We all start off somewhere, owning a business was entirely new to me ,so was talking about myself or why I do it too. Also, a fine arts one where every day people cannot necessarily afford the large price tag on my work was and still can be hard. I thought how I could create value or reputation without selling myself short, my paintings are a direct look into how my mind thinks. During the start of this I had no idea it would turn into this pursuit of unapologetic expression, I was majoring in business at a community college. The classes didn’t help me though, they don’t teach you how to be kind, listen to feedback, or how to smartly invest into your ideas. Everything I’ve learned so far has been trial and error.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Im the creative director, acrylic painter, graphic designer, website builder, event coordinator and creator of my art brand “Til Doomsday”. Im most known for pop surrealism paintings or doing live paintings for events. My proudest accomplishment so far has been being able to inspire other people. There is a local art space in Rancho Cucamonga called “Dreamland arts+ Community” this space holds events for the youth to learn about art, features local artists and is ran by a woman named Julia Stauder. My residency with them has been the most rewarding to me personally, they always feature me as a live painter, so dope. Another thing to be proud of is the ambition I’ve developed. A few times I have created paintings for my favorite music artists and designers, and I’ll be painting at the same event or had planned to pop out where they were featured. This means I’ve been able to get my paintings to some of the most influential names in hip hop, rap and fashion like Lil Yachty, Kenny Mason, Eem Triplin, The Weeknd and Mitch Modes.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I grew up in Fontana, after school for a nice chunk of my childhood I would ride bikes, skate, play basketball and get into trouble with my close friends. Every sunset, joke, albums released during those years are completely engraved into my head.
