Conversations with Toma Battino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toma Battino.

Hi Toma, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I started on my 24th birthday, I always liked to draw but was never technically savvy enough to create digital art. This all changed when I got an iPad and an Apple Pencil. I draw art with positive vibes. I was the kid who doodled instead of listening to the math lecture. I try to bring that energy to my art.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a relatively smooth road. Many people considered the pandemic a major obstacle, however, it gave me the time and space to focus on growing my portfolio.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I draw original characters in my unique style. I create illustrations in my signature style. I am half Japanese and grew up in California so my work is a blend of Japanese and American cartoons. I am most proud of my consistency.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Persistence and a willingness to experiment. I just keep posting content that makes me smile.
