Today we’d like to introduce you to Yasmin Shenoda.
Hi Yasmin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up with my family in the restaurant/ sales industry. I was always in preforming arts but coming from a middle eastern family acting and singing as a career wasn’t in the books for me. After graduating high school I attended Some college but then dropped out to attend beauty school at Paul Mitchell. I got My license in 2015 and still till this day specialize in hair and makeup for weddings and events. Through it all my roots were always in the restaurant and sales industry. I’ve served and managed quite a few restaurants in San Diego and have had a few high ticket sales positions as well.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Hasn’t been a smooth road! I moved Out at 21 and made sure to work hard enough to afford what I wanted in this life. In 2023 I had My daughter and this has been the most blessed but challenging 2 years yet. I was Fortunately very spoiled growing up so even as a single mom with having 100% custody and no second parent support, I still am determined to give my daughter the best life possible. Anything for my babygirl.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize In hair and makeup for weddings. I’m also a hair extensions specialist. What sets me apart from others is how personable I am. I’m such a people person so making people feel and look good is such an amazing experience.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I want Nothing more than a family. I grew up with very traditional family roles. I wouldnt Mind being able to make my own schedule and continue to do hair but I want more kids and I want to be able to be home with them and for them and all their milestones.
