Today we’d like to introduce you to Zac Swazey
Hi Zac, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are a student-run business through Canyon Crest Academy. Myself and 3 other juniors came up with Cleantide decor in our advanced business class. Through a couple of supplier issues and product development & online marketing, we were able to gain over 2 thousand dollars in revenue. With this, we are working with partnering with the Surfrider Foundation to help make a lasting impact on taking microplastics out of our oceans. Visit Cleantidedecor.com for more info.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t. We had some major supplier issues and ended up not getting our first shipment of bowls causing a pretty big hit on our investors. We were able to overcome this roadblock and found a fantastic group of artisans that produce the bowls we sell today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a junior at Canyon Crest Academy High School and CEO of Cleantide Decor. I run day-to-day operations and make decisions such as our social media marketing, financial choices, and product development. I am most proud of helping my team create a business that has gained a significant amount of happy customers & followers. What sets me apart from others is my entrepreneurial spirit. I am 16 years old and have already started two businesses (working on three) and I have a passion for any work I do. (Please do not write much about me, but more about the business).
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Self-belief, kindness, humor, maturity, emotional intelligence.
