We recently had the chance to connect with Cynthia Sapp and have shared our conversation below.
Cynthia, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I’m most proud of building isn’t a single project, product, or achievement. It’s the quiet foundation beneath everything I create — the part no one sees but everyone feels.
I’ve built a way of moving through life and business that is intentional rather than rushed. I’ve learned to pause, to choose wisely, and to focus on what is *needed* instead of chasing every fleeting want. Over time, those wants naturally evolve into needs anyway, and I’ve grown patient enough to let that process unfold.
I’ve also built a deep commitment to people — supporting them, encouraging them, and helping them recognize their strengths instead of their weaknesses. That invisible work matters to me more than any metric of success. I don’t measure impact in dollars; I measure it in moments. The smile someone gets when they wear a piece of clothing I designed. The comfort a guest feels when they share their story on my podcast. The spark in someone’s eyes when they watch my team investigate the paranormal and realize *they* can do this too.
What I’ve built is a life and a business rooted in purpose, compassion, and courage. It’s the unseen architecture of who I am: a creator who wants others to believe in themselves, a storyteller who hopes to inspire, and a leader who understands that the most meaningful successes are the ones that quietly change someone’s day — or even their direction.
That is what I’m most proud of. Not the things people can point to, but the things they can feel.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Cynthia—though most people know me as Cyndi or by my nickname, “Giggles.” I’m a creator, storyteller, investigator, and the heart behind several passion‑driven projects that all share one mission: helping people believe in themselves.
I’m the owner and designer of **Curiosity Couture by Cyndi**, a clothing line built on inclusivity, individuality, and self‑expression. I spend countless hours crafting unique prints and designs, not just based on what I love, but on what others feel confident wearing. I pay close attention to different styles, shapes, and sizes because fashion should make *everyone* feel seen. Every piece I create is meant to spark joy, comfort, or a sense of belonging.
I’m also the host of the **Coven of Curiosities Podcast**, a judgment‑free space where guests share their paranormal, cryptid, or simply unexplainable experiences. I love hearing people’s stories—especially the ones they’ve been afraid to tell. My goal is to remind them they’re not alone, they’re not “crazy,” and their experiences matter. Creating a safe, welcoming environment for these conversations is one of the things I’m most proud of.
Beyond that, I’m a lead investigator with **Federal Paranormal Investigators**, a Southern California–based team dedicated to exploring the unknown with curiosity, respect, and safety at the forefront. I collaborate with other teams, guide my own through investigations, and continue developing my own intuitive abilities. I’ve even collected three beautiful dolls that serve as vessels for spirits who want to communicate—each one a reminder of how layered and mysterious our world truly is.
Across all my work—design, podcasting, storytelling, and paranormal investigation—my brand stands on one core belief: **Believe in Yourself**. Whether someone wears my clothing, shares their story on my podcast, or joins me on an investigation, I want them to walk away feeling empowered, understood, and inspired to embrace who they are.
That’s the heart of what I do, and why I love doing it.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The person who saw me clearly long before I ever saw myself was my Grandma Rae—my “Gram.” She was a constant source of love, encouragement, and strength from the time I was a child. She believed in me with a certainty I didn’t yet have, and she reminded me every day that I could do anything I set my mind to. She was my number‑one fan, my safe place, and my greatest teacher.
As her first granddaughter, we shared a bond that’s hard to put into words. She was my world. I admired everything about her—her loyalty, her work ethic, her adventurous spirit, and the way she balanced responsibility with joy. She loved to travel, she loved Vegas, and she absolutely loved blackjack and the slot machines. Growing up, she always told me, “Cyn’s, when you turn 21, I’m taking you to Las Vegas,” and she kept that promise. That trip is still one of my favorite memories.
Gram saw strengths in me that I didn’t recognize yet. She saw my resilience, my creativity, my leadership, and my heart. She pushed me to work hard, to never give up, and to trust that I was capable of more than I realized. Her belief in me shaped who I am today.
Even though she’s no longer here physically, she’s still with me every day. I carry her ashes in my moon necklace, and I never take it off. It’s my reminder that her love, her guidance, and her faith in me continue to walk beside me. She saw me clearly before I ever could—and because of her, I learned how to see myself.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes—there have been several moments in my life when giving up felt easier than continuing forward. I’ve lived through periods that were incredibly heavy: raising my sons as a single mother, navigating relationships that were unhealthy and damaging, and carrying the weight of feeling unappreciated, unseen, and worn down. Those experiences took a real toll on my sense of worth, and there were times when the emotional pain felt overwhelming.
But even in those darkest moments, something in me refused to stay down. I reached a point where I realized I had worked too hard—on myself, my healing, my career, and my businesses—to let those moments define the rest of my life. I started to understand my value, piece by piece. I learned what I wanted in my life and, just as importantly, what I would no longer accept.
Last year was a turning point. I found myself at a very low place, one that forced me to stop and really look at my life. While receiving care, I had a moment of clarity: I still had so much to live for. My creativity, my work, my podcast, my paranormal team, my goals, and the people who genuinely love me—those were reasons to keep going. I realized that chaos and pain are part of life, but so are love, truth, and connection.
So I made a choice. I changed my environment. I surrounded myself with people who care, who don’t take advantage of my kindness, and who want to see me grow. I recommitted to my passions and to the future I’m building. And I told myself something I had needed to hear for a long time: **I am worth it.**
That decision—to keep going, to choose myself—became one of the strongest moments of my life.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that honesty and respect are at the core of who I am. They know I value genuine connections—people who show up with truth, kindness, and integrity. They would describe me as caring, loving, thoughtful, and always willing to be there for others. Lifting people up, encouraging them to see their own strength, and helping them put their best foot forward is something that truly matters to me.
They’d also say I’m outgoing and fun, someone who loves conversation and connecting with people from all walks of life. My podcast is a big part of that. It gives me the chance to hear others’ experiences—especially the ones that aren’t always easy to talk about—and to create a space where guests feel safe, respected, and understood. That matters deeply to me.
Writing is another passion my friends would mention. They know how much I love letting my imagination run free and sharing stories that others can enjoy. Creativity is one of the ways I express myself and connect with the world.
My friends also know how much I love my family, both near and far. I miss them, and they’d tell you that family is a huge part of my heart. They’d say I believe life is meant to be lived fully—traveling, exploring, chasing adventures, and experiencing the things you’ve always dreamed of.
But above all, they would say the most important thing in my life is my two sons and my two grandsons. They are my world, and even when distance keeps us apart, my love for them is constant and deep. That’s what truly matters to me.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Yes… I truly believe I’m doing what I was born to do. For a long time, I made choices based on what others expected from me or what I was told I “should” do. I followed paths that didn’t belong to me because I hadn’t yet learned to trust my own voice. But everything changed the moment I decided to live for myself — to pursue the work that fuels my passion, whether others understood it or not.
Today, I’m fully aligned with my purpose. As the owner of **Coven of Curiosities, LLC** and the host of the **Coven of Curiosities Podcast**, I get to create, explore, and connect in ways that feel authentic to who I am. I lead a team of people who share my passion for the paranormal, cryptids, and the strange and unusual. **We are called Federal Paranormal Investigators.** Guiding the team during investigations, continuing to develop my abilities, and helping others feel safe and curious in mysterious spaces is a role that feels like home to me.
And as the owner of **Curiosity Couture by Cyndi**, I’m also the creator, artist, designer, accountant, and salesperson behind my work — wearing every hat with pride and staying humble through it all. This blend of creativity, leadership, intuition, and community is exactly where I’m meant to be.
So yes… I am absolutely doing what I was born to do. Choosing this path has been one of the most empowering decisions of my life.
