Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Loper.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a writer, a poet and I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I have also been interested in the visual arts for just about as long.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road, and it should not be smooth. From lack of direction and lack of of confidence, it has been a struggle, but a struggle that has helped me hone my craft.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am first and foremost a writer of poetry or song lyrics if you will. The folks who know me best know I am a weaver of words and rhyme sprinkled with rhythm. In that, I am most proud of the joy of poetry that I have brought to people and bringing poetry out of the dark ages and helping to make it fresh again for new audiences. The thing that sets me apart is peering into the darkness and bringing a ray of light out of its darkest depths.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson along the journey would be to never take anything or anyone for granted… we are all a team in the game of life.
