Today we’d like to introduce you to Alli Cox.
Hi Alli, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started with the feeling of I wasn’t sure if I would ever find what I was meant to do in life. My mind would be reeling about what I could do. I knew I wouldn’t settle for less than something I’m passionate for. I started to remember how I used to take photo shoots of my cousin and friends growing up. I took photography in high school and then I put it aside for a while. So I decided to buy a camera again. My friends from church were getting engaged so I started taking some of their engagement photos to build a portfolio. One of those friends wanted me to be their wedding photographer and I took off from there. in my first 6 months I booked a destination wedding in Cancun and a couple other solo weddings my first year. I have 7 more next year! Now I get to travel all over California to meet new and amazing people and capture memories they can remember for a lifetime.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been smooth mostly. There are times I compare myself and I feel I could be doing even better, but I’m grateful to have even started. It took me a while to start my business out of fear of failure. Sometimes the things we fear the most is what grows us the most.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a wedding photographer. I specialize in capturing moments that last forever. Photos that the couple can look back at and remember a moment in time. Photos that their children can look at , and grandchildren and on it goes. What I’m proud about with my work and that makes me stand apart is I have bright and natural looking photos. I like knowing that people feel very comfortable with me whenever we do a photo shoot.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
That you should start the thing you’re fearful of because it’ll take you somewhere you never knew you could be and you’ll meet people you never thought you would meet.
