Daily Inspiration: Meet Andreka Jasek

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andreka Jasek.

Hi Andreka, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been musical, but I picked up a guitar because my older brother was in a band, and I thought he was so cool. Playing guitar was never a hobby—it became how I processed everything I couldn’t say through words.
Now I’m part of The NightCry, where my playing has grown into something louder and darker, shared on stage with bandmates who turned my solitary practice into a living, breathing sound. Every time I play, I still feel that first spark—the little girl learning Metallica songs in the dark—only now it echoes through the music we make together.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being in a band absolutely comes with real weight. It means late nights hauling gear, empty rooms that test your faith, and long drives where you wonder if anyone is listening. It’s learning to compromise when creative visions clash, keeping friendships intact when stress runs high, and staying motivated when money is tight and progress feels slow. It’s balancing jobs, life, and relationships while still showing up to rehearse, write, and believe in something that isn’t guaranteed to work. Mind you, these things are just the tip of the iceberg.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m proud that I kept going. From the first days of teaching myself guitar to writing songs that finally felt like me, to creating something real with The NightCry—every step was earned. The progress matters more than perfection. With that said, I started taking guitar lessons later in my career and this has opened up so many doors for me.

The NightCry will be releasing “Black Roses, Violet Hearts” on March 20th. This is our debut album and I am super proud of it.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I consider myself fortunate to know what makes me happy and promotes inner peace, because those two things can be very difficult to achieve. Obviously music and creativity are cores of my happiness, but I wouldn’t be able to enjoy those things if I weren’t consistently living in alignment with my values. Through music, I am able to deeply connect with others, which is another source of happiness for me.
