Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Alexander.
Hi Angel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Angel, and I’m a designer, musician, and creator. Everything I do…whether it’s through my clothes or my music, is rooted in a deep desire to uplift others and inspire freedom of expression. I want people to feel good, think differently, and break free from any box the world tries to put them in.
My journey has been beautiful, but it hasn’t been easy. I’ve lost so many people I love. That pain could’ve broken me, but instead I’ve done everything I can to turn it into power.To turn it into purpose. Every stitch in my clothing line, every lyric in my songs, carries pieces of that story.
What drives me now is building a legacy, not just for myself, but for my family. I want to create as much as I can, while I can. One of my proudest moments so far was San Diego Swim Week. My models walked down the runway wearing my designs, to music that I wrote. That moment meant everything to me. As a child, all I did was sing, dance, and play dress-up. Now I get to live that same dream, but on my own terms.
My brand Insideout is more than a fashion line. It’s a passion project. It’s about helping people feel confident and seen. I believe when you feel good on the inside, it shows on the outside. When you wear something I made, I hope you feel that love stitched into it.
People often assume I grew up with money based on how I carry myself, but the truth is I’m a DIY queen. Nothing’s ever been handed to me, I’ve had to pray hard, hustle hard, and be insanely creative just to make something out of nothing. I’ve faced rejection, hate, and moments so dark I didn’t know if I’d keep going. I’m so glad I did.
I was 15 when my brother was killed by a cop. I lost my dad in 2021. Then I found my nephew dead in 2022. These aren’t just headlines these are the scars I live with. But they also remind me why I must keep going. I’ve lived. I’ve lost. But I’m still here. Creating. Healing. Growing.
My hope is that when people hear my story, they feel the urge to keep going too. I want to remind them that resilience isn’t about being unbreakable. It’s about choosing to rebuild, over and over, with whatever pieces you have left. And it’s about staying present. Life can be painful, but there’s still so much beauty here and we all deserve to feel it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been far from easy but absolutely worth it.

I specialize in swimwear and music. I think my life experience sets me apart from everyone else. Not many people my age have been through what I have. Sometimes I feel like the shrimp from shark tales when I tell my story.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Stay present and spread as much love as possible.
