Hi Anu, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I-Rise Dental Boutique is a story about “I Rise”; “I Rise” is about raising yourself above all the human limitations that we mentally setup upon ourserves. “I Rise” is about achieving all your dreams & goals that you always wanted & achieving it by setting your sights on it… It is about getting you oral health & beautiful smiles back, so you can be ready to take on the world with the “best” version of you.
Infact the vision of “I-Rise Dental Boutique” started during the heart of covid and really took shape during the year and half where we worked towards getting a shell office & build a beautiful boutique dental office in Delmar. We pride ourselves in truly standing by our motto “Kind, Compassionate, State of the Art” to everyone (staff, patients, vendors, etc.). We truly take care of our patients by making sure they are getting best treatment option possible & not just offering solutions that makes most financial sense. Infact Dr. Mohan truly believes in treating each patient like her own family which can also be seen in the numerous reviews that you can read on Google.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The story of “I-Rise” begins with my own story. A few years back when my now almost teenage autistic son was just born & was only 2weeks old, I started dental school at USC to get my DDS degree. He is my second kid & with two little kids & limited family support it was a constant challenge to find a balance to take care of family and also go through the rigors of school to get my DDS degree. There were other classmates of mine who could not handle similar stress of having a baby & doing the program and had quit the DDS program. I was constantly being looked down upon and thought as someone who is not going to make it. But Inspite all the odds I passed out in flying colors with being on the Deans list. You can say “I Rose” above my challenges & that has shaped me to who I am today.
At 2 my second child gets diagnosed with autism. This was a quite a curve ball in our already busy lives. I had find a balance between my professional goals and focus on helping him. We were blessed with “the son-rise program” which we still actively run for him at our home. This is a child-centered parent driven therapy program which has truly helped my son. But moreover, it has truly helped shape me into who I am (because this is a program run by parents). The “compassion” in our motto truly emerges from our amazing journey with our son and that’s one of the reason we love seeing special needs kids & adults at I-Rise Dental and adults; since caregivers can truly appreciate the empathy that truly comes from the a similar journey we have gone through just like them.
Again, with my autistic child you can say that it was really about raising above bar…breaking the ceilings that were set upon us & reaching out for more.
Being an immigrant myself my life is a testimony of “I-Rise.” I had to work on getting a footing in this country as English is my third language. I had to work hard to get my DDS degree & establish myself as a dentist here. Even today I have to constantly work towards setting a balance between family commitments & my professional goals. But like everything else, it is a challenge I know is going to get the best of me…
I am true believer in “Universe does not do mistakes. There is big purpose in cause behind everything this happening. So, we need to embrace it and make the best of everything that comes your way.

I-Rise Dental Boutique could not been possible without the support of my loving husband, my 3 kids, and my wonderful parents who made multiple trips from India to come help us. Also, we truly acknowledge the support of SDRC for all the hours of respite care that gave us in order for us to focus on getting the practice up and running. We absolutely love all the blessings that have poured in our life. We truly feel blessed to be citizens of this wonderful country where “dreams do come true.” Absolutely love San Diego & feel truly blessed to live here.
