Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Jones.
Hi Austin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was very young, I wanted to be an artist. I told my parents when I was 5 years old at the dinner table I wanted to be an artist. They supported me ever since.
I got professional training. Graduated highschool and college. I got a degree in Illustration from Art Center College of Design. Graduated in 2013.
Ever since then, took jobs (art camps, teaching gigs, worked in the professional design industry, ect.) and built my resume. I eventually settled on a company that I still work for (Arts Education Connection San Diego) and dedicated my life to teaching art. I also run my art selling business on the side.
In 2019, I met my lovely wife. And in 2025, August 17, We had our firstborn son.
We went through 3 previous pregnancies that were all miscarried before we had our son. It was very difficult. It was not easy. But my wife and I prevailed.
Our son literally just turned 1 year old today. As of right now as I write this, it is August 17th, 2026. We are so happy.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a very rough road. Pain, Suffering, Depression, Losing Jobs, and much more. It has not been easy. But you just keep pushing through ever day. I always live by my quote I made for my business card:
“Always do your best. Even if you don’t feel your best, because that is what this world deserves.”
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I would say what stands out most about my work as that no single piece I have created is the same. My style varies from piece to piece, my works are always evolving. My art is an every changing entity. I love what I do.
What matters most to you? Why?
Bringing happiness to the world through my art. Seeing how people react good or bad always interests me. Seeing people smile or express emotion towards my art brings a really rewarding feeling.
