Today we’d like to introduce you to Breahna Alvarez
Hi Breahna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been a go getter and knew I wanted to be independent and self reliant. At age 13 I started doing hair and would work hours and hours on end to make my little money. I got my first real job at 16 and have been moving up the latter ever since. As I got older, worked more jobs, and completed college and graduate school I began to think about the things that can pass down for generations to come and the lightbulb went off. My grandpa always used to preach to me about real estate and the importance of having the most valuable asset…which is real estate. He and my grandma owned several properties here in San Diego and it wasn’t until he passed that I truly understood how important owning property is , especially when minority work so hard just to get any little piece of land we can get. I grew up in south East San Diego and it is my mission to educate and help as many people as possible with purchasing, investing, and securing in the very assets that can pass down generations. Real estate is one of the most secure ways to ensure generational wealth. I’m proud to say I’ve sold homes from San Diego all the way up to Los Angeles and even Palm Springs while also being a full time paralegal. This is a marathon…not a race and I’m going to keep going and keep helping as many families as I can.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. The first year as a realtor I didn’t sell anything and I did everything consistently. I promoted myself, I hosted open houses, I went out into neighborhoods door knocking to get my name out there and so much more. But I didn’t stop, I had the encouragement of my team lead Apiphany and I’m forever grateful for her. It wasn’t until 2024 that I began selling. I’ve now sold multiple homes and helped many families.
People make this look so easy, I’ve seen all the realtor shows on TV and I honestly thought that’s what real estate would be like….but it’s not like that AT all. The realtor shows on TV shows a very short, highly glorified version of real estate.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a real estate agent but I wear so many hats when helping clients. When you get into escrow my job as a realtor quickly turns into being a counselor, mediator, negotiator, protector, educator, scheduler, etc., because there are people who are trusting me to sell their current home or even help them by their first home, investment property, new family home, etc. I wear all these hats to make sure my clients are as comfortable and happy as possible through the rollercoaster called “ESCROW” and anyone who has bought or sold a home knows exactly what I mean.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My advice would be to keep looking until you find a great fit in all aspects. My first year in real estate I was not an active agent because I knew no one who was an active realtor. I began going to real estate networking events by myself to put my name out there and get into rooms with people who were already successful in estate. I made contacts and networked until I found the right mentor for me.
