Daily Inspiration: Meet Brianna Sanchez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Sanchez.

Hi Brianna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Downtown San Diego birthed my love for the “gemeinschaftsgefühl” that hospitality brings to our everyday lives. Since then, I’ve carefully searched for roles that emphasize the importance of human connection and garner a sense of community. From Host to Event Coordinator to Project Manager, I have always felt the most joy when witnessing beautiful bonds being formed in front of my very eyes.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Change of pace or direction typically isn’t what makes us jump for joy, though hardships usually come bearing gifts. Throughout my career in Hospitality and Event Coordination, I’ve come to appreciate and embrace its natural ability to pivot directions at any point of the journey. Now, I can see a bump in the road as an opportunity to see the situation at hand from a different perspective or stumble upon a solution that is more efficient than the original plan. Adapting to the fast pace culture of these industries has been the most challenging yet rewarding skill I’ve equipped myself with.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m proudest of the moments I get to create for others and their loved ones. For their big night or big day, for their very own special moment. I see embraces from one person to the next and hear the giggles of the youngest with their elders. I watch from the sideline, but I see myself in each of them, and that is enough. Through bringing people together, I’ve learned the message and importance of togetherness can’t be lost. Each community has to remind itself of empathy as a tool for connection and look past the shiny, bright lights of the stage.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk-taking has little to do with the actual result or outcome of a decision. Deciding to move out of your comfort zone, the realm in which you feel the most secure always comes with a lesson to be learned. That lesson may be to trust your intuition or to acknowledge what systems in your life aren’t working; whatever the case, taking risks can always be viewed as a chance to see the bright side of situations.
