Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Briggs
Hi Brooke, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always had a love for music but my passion for children’s music started when my children were little and it was a highlight of my week to attend caregiver and me music classes with them! They learned so much through the music and it was so great to bond with them at class. I learned to play the guitar for them and was determined to become a music teacher myself. I have worked for a few music companies in the past but really was looking for an upbeat music program that was educational for my students but also something parents loved to listen to as well. That was when the idea of creating my own music program came about and the launch of Magic Steps Music! I am thrilled to be hitting our one year anniversary in January and have the best team that helped support this dream and make it a reality!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have definitely been challenges faced such as high cost licensing fees to use other music programs, struggles with securing great music class locations that are affordable, and finding other quality musicians to teach the program too but right now we are in a great spot! We have so many amazing locations in Orange County, a fantastic group of teachers and we are so excited to be able to expand to San Diego county now too! The bumps along the way have all been worth it to get where our program is today! We all have a passion for education and love teaching music to families together!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Magic Steps Music is unlike other music programs as we really work hard at creating our own original music that is upbeat, catchy, educational and something that parents enjoy listening to as well. It is so important to have current music that our families can all enjoy together! We make sure each album includes songs from different genres and includes a variety of original songs plus classic songs that families love from generation to generation.
Magic Steps Music offers mixed age classes for infants to toddlers and each class teaches students to learn to carry a beat, grasp small objects, develop their hand-eye coordination and we also focus on counting, colors, letters, etc! We really strive to provide a program that is educational and truly believe that learning through music is the best way to learn for little ones.
Another way our program is different is we offer unlimited classes all session long. We know little ones have unpredictable schedules and sometimes families have to miss a class or they have some free time and want to come to another class! We try and be as flexible as possible and families can come to as many classes as they want at any of our locations for the entire session. The only location this does not apply to is The Lullabar is they handle their own registrations.
Pricing:
- 10 week session is $325
- 10 week session for siblings is $200
- Siblings under 8 months are free
- Next session starts January 13, 2025
