Today we’d like to introduce you to Cesar “Chuco” Peinado.
Cesar “Chuco”, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Retired from the US Navy in 2014 after 24 years of service and multiple tours overseas. I came home missing the camaraderie only found in the military and decided to search out other Veterans who were also in the same situation as me. Through my love for motorcycles, I found the Veterans of Foreign Wars Motorcycle Club. We are a 501c3 organization and our motto is to help Veterans first and foremost combined with the love for riding and camaraderie. It was a perfect fit for me and we all get a great source of satisfaction in helping our Brothers and Sisters in arms, especially those who can no longer do for themselves.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Adapting to civilian life after such a very long time always presents challenges. Through the help of my fellow Veterans and my motorcycle club, it has truly alleviated the struggles encountered.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
VFW CA MC prides itself on generating funds and services to help Veterans in need. Most recently, we refurbished the roof at the VFW in Winchester, CA. The roof was leaking in many different areas and the motorcycle club was able to secure a donation of materials to refurbish the roof. The motorcycle club then volunteered all the labor and expertise to complete the roof leaving them with a secure location for Veterans to gather.
What are your plans for the future?
We have many exciting events coming up soon. March 26th, we will be having a motorcycle poker run as well as our traditional in-house Texas Hold ’em poker tournaments leading up to our big annual Hold ’em tournament. We will also be riding out to Sturgis for the annual motorcycle rally. This year we will be doing something very special and raising money for a very worthy cause related to Veteran suicides. We intend to raise money for this extremely worthy cause and we will need all the help we can get to get the word out!
