Daily Inspiration: Meet Cody Prickett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cody Prickett

Hi Cody, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Starting Krispy Reviews Podcast has been a welcomed challenge, I’m doing this on my own only using the help of the internet to keep progressing forward. Prior to starting this, I am an above average music fan who worships the Artists/bands that create it. I’ve been to many concerts and music festivals around America and I’m fortunate enough to have met some artists who have shared their experiences and stories with me. Along the way and over the years it inspired me to make a shift. I wanted to share these conversations I’ve had with other fans, friends, and those who make the music into a podcast for everyone to enjoy. Henceforth, KRP, a podcast destination that covers Music Festivals/ concerts, Album reviews, and of course interviews with Artists/bands/and the fans who indulge it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been difficult understanding the direction of where the podcast should go. Music is such a broad spectrum to talk about, but I find that challenge to be fun. I love getting to bring news of music festivals happening in a city near you, and sharing why someone should experience it. Music festivals bring culture, food, and music together for a once in a lifetime experience that’s constantly changing year to year. Especially with rapid changes in fan engagement and taste in music. Other struggles include learning curve of getting the podcast available for everyone to find and fighting my learning curve for graphic design, Audio/video editing, and marketing. As time has gone on, I’ve gotten better at this and it’s starting to show!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create podcast episodes that cover a wide range of topics between these three Pillars: Music festival/concert News, New Albums/ reviews, and Interviewing Artists/Bands/and the fans who are obsessed with these topics. Currently I specialize in every step of the process. I plan my podcasts, I create my social media posts for marketing, I take care of all emails in/out, and execute them in a timely manner to ensure I’m matching the pace of music festivals happening organizers and artists release schedules. I’m most known for being extremely passionate and involved with the artists and the events that host them. I participate heavily in online/social media communities where active conversations take place about these topics. What I’m most proud of is taking the steps to give my ideas a brand for others to associate with, a source to connect them to music news and the events that are happening. I believe what sets me apart is my drive to breathe life into the music community by bridging the gap between artists and fans who desire to know more about them and the events they are involved in. I don’t know many people who are this dedicated to doing this other than people who criticize music or fans for their own personal taste. Which is not my goal, my goal is to bring awareness and knowledge into the community and uplift fans and the artists they love.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Other than the podcast, I truly enjoy these communities and enjoy the conversations with fans and artists. Creating transparency between communities helps everyone understand and empathize with each other. Music in every form to me is the best thing to ever experience, it’s a language everyone can understand with out having to know what is being said. I will always be a fan first no matter what.
