Today we’d like to introduce you to Connor Ramone.
Connor, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
At the age of 10, I began taking photos using my small android phone camera, playing around with built in filters and framing subjects such as pets, childhood friends, and nature. This phone photography continued throughout the years, until I got my hands on my first camera, a Canon T5 and kit lens provided by my high school to document school trips and events to be used for yearbook and marketing purposes.
My proudest moment during these years was after printing one of my photos to use for a project, being accused of stealing it off of google by a teacher. She was equally as proud when I scrolled through the camera as proof!
During this time I photographed neighbors, siblings, various school projects, and even a small clothing business, up until I
eventually graduated and had to return my beloved T5 camera.
This year 2025, after a 7 year break from my camera, I decided to buy one of my own. I started back up by offering a few free local sessions, to now being booked consistently again!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Surprisingly, yes!
My biggest struggles were surrounding financial constraints (as I’m sure is the case with most), I am fairly low income and essentially did whatever it took to get the gear I knew I needed. Working extra shifts, sleeping in car for a bit, selling anything I could. I was told I caught the photography fever lol!
In terms of the photography itself, I’m definitely still learning, and while “imposter syndrome” is very real especially with social media making comparing your work to others so easy, I make an effort to stay in my lane and focus on improving my own work instead of focusing on how I can copy somebody else’s.
Ive been so incredibly lucky these past few months, and overall despite any financial troubles, I feel my road has been very smooth thus far!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I currently specialize in creating authentic lifestyle portraits that tell a story and capture genuine emotion.
