Today we’d like to introduce you to Donnie Atoms.
Hi Donnie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We are Apollo 03! An Alienpunk Rock Band! We started back in late 2018 when I met jerry redsun, he was running away from a mob when he jumped in my ship while I was fixing extra cargo, he basically told me to go, so I didn’t hesitate, and we took off. During the trip to earth, we discovered that we had a lot in common and desired to make music, to be a part of a band. Together we started making music and with other extra-terrestrials, and in 2019 we made our first album Apollo 03, which was a compilation of music we had already recorded. Late 2019, Abduction was released, which was a straightforward classic-styled punk rock album singing about relationships and issues and consequences with self-harm. And I’m 2022, multiverse was released, our first dive into experimental space rock and when we started to show our true alien colors. After a while in the stars and many planets for shows and festivals, in early 2023, we thought we would request another bass player and drummer. Mitas Moonstar our drummer. And Luna Vision, our bass player, both are extremely talented individuals, and all together, including my droid Datajet that helped us, we wrote our latest album, Supernova. This album is full of Punk, Metal, And Experimental Rock Styles that we discovered while living amongst the earthlings; til now we’ve definitely been better as aliens and as musicians as a whole! We are ready to show Earth what Alienpunk can really be!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been both very rough and smooth, at times we had members that weren’t up to continue their passion in music like how we are, we’ve had shows where we wish we done better, gear problems, vehicle issues, etc., but at the end of the day, we always come together for the sake of the band.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I, Donnie Atoms, am a producer/musician. I wrote music for Apollo 03, another band called Alt.0, and an electronic dance group called Nocturnal Creatures. And I also produced Apollo 03s albums as well as Nocturnal Creatures EPs. I’m mostly proud of the Apollo albums; those albums are my most proudest producing works, as well as a ladder from the beginning of my production to now! I believe what sets me apart from others is my dedication and determination to play shows and producing music constantly, even while on road or at home.
