Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna McMullen.
Hi Jenna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I found my love of photography living in the mountains of Montana and capturing so many beautiful landscapes and mountaintops. As I started traveling the world, I never left my camera behind. I’ve had the privilege of capturing so many cities all over the world through the lens of my camera in my own creative light. Today, I’ve combined my love of photography with my love of people and have started capturing beautiful moments for people that will last a lifetime!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As I advanced in my career, I really wanted a better camera to help me capture amazing moments for my client’s but couldn’t afford one at the time. A friend of a friend who had never even met me heard I loved photography and mailed me her camera she didn’t use from a different state! I will forever be grateful to her.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a photographer who specializes in story telling. I love taking photos that really capture the emotions and expressions of what the client’s are feeling during the shoot. It’s a much more vibrant and fun experience making sure the clients feel comfortable, relaxed, and can walk away knowing they had a blast during the shoot and that the photos will capture that.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Just go for it! You don’t have to know everything when you start out. You will learn more and more along the way with every session. Just have fun during the shoot and your clients will too! Don’t be afraid to try new ideas even with friends to broaden your portfolio. Get out there and start taking photos as much as you can and you will find your niche!
