Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerryn Charos
Hi Jerryn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I moved from Palm Desert to San Diego in 2015 because I thought I was going to get married to my girl friend at the time. That didn’t happen so I found myself in a city where I knew no one and was completely on my own. I would bartend at a major hotel chain for the next few years until I met a friend that would encourage me to obtain my real estate license. I became licensed in 2021 and gained experience with working with buyers and sellers. The first house I ever sold was a house my business partner at the time flipped. I learned about investing and property management with short term rentals.
I now currently work at RC Realty of San Diego and I absolutely love working for the Chambless family. They have been a huge part of my journey as a real estate agent and entrepreneur.
In my free time I love to train in Muay Thai kickboxing, go to the beach, and I am a guitar player and singer/song writer.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Ups and downs would be a generous statement. I have struggled quite a bit but have also had monumental victories and growth. Flipping a house is not anything like the shows on H.G. TV would make you believe. When you have no experience and no money it can be scary. Some days you think you’re out of the woods and you’re going to make a great profit, other days you think you should start getting consultations from bankruptcy attorneys. Quite a learning experience to say the least.
Navigating the chaotic market and the changes brought on by the recent NAR lawsuit as been somewhat challenging as a new agent. It has forced me to be very present and be steadfast in my commitment to staying educated on these issues so I can better serve clients
I went from having no education, plan, or path in life to having a clear vision of what I want for my business and personal life.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I think my specialty as a Realtor is making people feel like I am here to help them get their desired outcome. On my business card it says “It’s all about YOU, and I’m here to help.” I want everyone I work for to know that this is their home buying or selling experience and the product that I can give them is fulfilling their needs and succeeding in helping them accomplish their goals. I will never make it about myself because its not about me. When someone has to sell their home due to a major life changing event I want them to know that I am going to go above and beyond to represent them, get them top dollar for their property and make the transaction as smooth and painless as possible.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memories are being a teenager and skateboarding and partying with my friends. The world was very exciting, new and romantic because I didn’t have any cares or responsibility. All I did was skate, try to meet girls, and go to house parties. I had zero aspirations and I think there is something liberating about that. You just exist with no expectations of yourself or the people around you. You just want to have fun and be in the moment.
