Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseni Romero.
Hi Joseni, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I found my passion for nails at a young age, around 12 years old. I would paint my nails a different color every single weekend. I started watching youtube videos about different types of manicures and found acrylic nails to be the most interesting. I decided to try it myself and bought the small acrylic kit from Walmart and practiced on myself once but then moved on to practicing on my cousin’s nails. They of course popped off the same day but I still loved the idea of doing acrylic nails. Fast forward to January of 2019 when I started to see people do nails in their own homes. I purchased basic things needed to do acrylic nails and started practicing again. I was able to get more and more supplies and practiced on my close friends and family. It was really discouraging when they did not turn out the way I wanted them to but with the encouragement and support I received from my family and friends I continued my journey. I am now about to complete two years of doing nails and I am proud of how far I have come.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The bumps on the road I was on were so big I almost couldn’t see what was ahead. The struggles I had to face in order to do what I am passionate about were more prominent than I thought they were going to be. Nail supplies are not that affordable it is 100% an investment. The smell of the nail liquid was an issue as well. I also didnt have the space to do nails so pretty much this entire hobby was looking to be a complete failure, almost impossible. I did nails in my backyard bugs and all were in my space. I lugged around two utility carts full of my supplies so I was able to put it inside and outside. It was so hard to stay motivated because of all those external factors and then the cherry on top was, really disliking how the nails were turning out. Without the encouragement of my friends and family I would have given up I was really lucky to have the support that I did.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I do acrylic nail manicures. I specialize in nail art, I don’t do one color nail sets often there are always some kind of design on it whether it be french tips or artwork or encapsulating things like flower pedals in nails. What sets me apart from other nail artist is my passion for what I do. I want to reinvent getting your nails done. When going to a salon you are never really relaxed and or satisfied with the one-hour rushed experienced. I take my time on the nails I do ensuring my clients are satisfied. I also make sure that my clients are comfortable and relaxed. I always believed getting your nails done should be therapeutic. With me youre not only getting your nails done but also receiving care and attention. I offer a “silent appointment” as well which is basically an option where the only conversation we have is about your nails. I want my clients to feel the most comfortable and not have to worry about making conversation with me when they are pampering themselves, I also think taking a mental break is needed at some point and what better time to take that break when getting your nails done.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
