Today we’d like to introduce you to Josette Desrosiers.
Josette, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I came out to San Diego 30 years ago when I was 18 fom Texas.I come a long line of beauticians ( mother, grandmother, aunts, uncles ect. I went to beauty school while I was in high-school because I had to take care of myself. I have been working for myself ever since. Eventually my clientele grew to be more diverse , allowing me to cater to any ethnicity. I purchased my own salon 10 years later and the rest of is history. Now i’m thriving and growing in San Diego. I specialize in hair extensions, hair replacement and confidence! Take your passion and make it happen has always been my motto 
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
From a very young age , I had a mother disabled to take care of.
She passed four years ago.
During Covid I lived in my car, and lost my salon. I survived by going to clients houses and taking clients to hotels.

Josette Desrosiers is a highly skilled celebrity stylist who specializes in non-surgical hair replacement, hair extensions, and custom wig making. With over 27 years of experience, Josette has become a certified hair loss specialist and developed her own wig line called WigsnOut. In addition, she has established her own Hair Extension Training Academy, where she shares her knowledge with others interested in the hair extension industry. She gained her expertise through internationally recognized educational programs and has worked in various salons before establishing her own California Hair Extensions Salon, Academy and Hair Loss Center in San Diego, CA.
Josette offers a diverse range of hair augmentation services such as Pole Weaving, Hair Locks, Wefted/Handtied Beaded Row, Brazilian Hair Knots, Sew-In Weaves, Tape-Ins, K Tip, Hair Dreams, Hair Toppers, Custom Wig Making, and Microlinking.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Finding a mentor is very important. I actually have several mentors. That is the only way to grow.There is no growth in your compfort zone! Always go after it.Do not wait for it to come to you. What is work well for me is going to different networking groups , online advertising as well as word of mouth. Sometimes you just have to hit the pavement and go pass out your cards.Do whatever you have to do to make it happen
