Daily Inspiration: Meet Kenyatta Beazer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenyatta Beazer.

Kenyatta Beazer

Hi Kenyatta, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. I graduated from college with a Chemistry degree and began working in different types of laboratories and eventually ended up teaching high school chemistry and forensic science. During my first year of teaching, I realized not only was that not the career I wanted, but Maryland was not the place I belonged. I started modeling around the age of 17, and California was always my dream home. Once I came to understand that I had reached my peak in Maryland, I knew it was time for me to go. Summer of 2021, I packed up my life and moved to sunny San Diego, and it was the best decision of my life. I finished up my master’s degree in forensic science, began modeling more, and found a career I could love and be proud of.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I moved to San Diego by myself, with no friends or family. Literally, three weeks into moving to San Diego, I got into a car accident, and I found myself not only without a car but without any help. I am pretty sure I cried so much in my first month of moving here. But once the tears dried, I remembered nothing worth having is easy to obtain. So, I picked myself up and remembered why I moved here and what I was capable of. There is no part of life that’s always smooth sailing, but I think it’s how you handle those rough patches that truly define you. Once I decided nothing would stop me from living the life, I knew I deserved, I won’t say it made everything smoother, but I can say I’ve gotten through every rough patch gracefully.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I currently work as a Quality Systems Specialist for a biotech company. My job I like to say is to make sure everyone in my company continue to have a job. Some areas of focus are audits, supplier management, document control, compliance and overall ensuring my company has an effective and efficient quality management system. I always thought I’d spend my career working in a lab, but this had been quite the surprise. I’m proud of myself for always improving, for putting myself to the test, and never being afraid to learn a new skill. I am a hard worker who not only knows what she’s capable of but is prepared to do what’s necessary to get where I want to be in life.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I definitely was the child that gave my parents a run for their money, but I like to think in a good way. I am very similar to how I am now, as in I wanted to be involved in everything under the sun. I tried playing baseball and basketball, and I’m pretty sure I only ran track for 3 days. I joined choir, cheer, and I was even on the debate team, I auditioned for every play and fashion show possible, and I even auditioned for The Voice. Whatever I wanted to try, trust me, I tried it. And whether I was good at it or not, I always lived my life wanting no regrets.
