Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiara Evangelista
Hi Kiara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a self-taught florist, and I create beautiful bouquets and arrangements right in my living room. While I currently work a 9-to-5 job, floral design is my passion and side hustle. My ultimate dream is to transition into a full-time eco-friendly florist and open my own flower studio, where I can freely work on my creations and have clients pick up their orders directly from my space.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My biggest challenge is the unknown. When I started, I had no idea how to close a sale, but I figured I’d learn as I went along—it was all about getting started. Unless I hire a florist to teach me their tricks, they’re not likely to share their secrets. Florists tend to keep certain methods to themselves, which is understandable; they’ve likely developed unique techniques over time and prefer to keep them under wraps to stay ahead of the competition. While it makes things more challenging for me, I’m completely up for it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a legal assistant at a PI Firm in Los Angeles named Omega Law Group, but since I moved to SD I now work remote. I’ve been with them for 6 years now and I’ve learned so much and I like what I do, but my true passion is with flowers.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I have a goal to visit all 50 states and I have 35 more states to go.
