Today we’d like to introduce you to Lady Amb.Dr. Robbie Motter.
Hi Lady Amb.Dr. Robbie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In the early 70’s I asked a women where I worked at the time in Nebraska to teach me something as I was always about learning she looked at me and said “ I will not teach you or any woman” tgst blew me away I could not believe it and pm that day I vowed I would share whatever I learned with women I first became involved with Nafe (National association of female executives) as their global volunteer coordinator serving their networks all over the U.S. and was running many of their networks also in Ca in 2o17 I founded gsfe (global society for female entrepreneurs) as Nafe was a for profit company
When COVID came Nafe decided to go another direction and even changed their name after 40 years as they were moving into diversity and because of COVID gsfe started doing meetings on zoom since we could not meet in person and because of that we started a Canada and e gland network and became global the next year we also formed a collaboration with LOANI another non profit ( leaders of all nations international) who is in 195 countries which allowed our gsfe members to meet more people international the next year we formed an additional collaboration with GIA (global international alliance) which allows us the opportunity to nominate deserving members for honorary Humanatarian doctorate degrees. Our gsfe mission is to empower, inspire, mentor, educate and connect women to be successful entrepreneurs . Last year we helped over 100 of our members become #1 is and international best selling authors. We are ONE we don’t compete we complete each other
No one on my board including me are paid we serve from our hearts to help our members soar to greater heights than even they imagined
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life has many obstacles but as the ceo I look at the obstacles as another way to find a solution as there is always another way
Everyday is a new day and the opportunity to learn new things and that’s what makes life exciting . I learn something new everyday and I will be 89 on March 8 international women’s day
I love what I do as gsfe all 318 are my family
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am known as a connector and also a person that sees things in others that sometimes they don’t see. Many members have said to me “how did you know I could do that” my answer “I just knew”
How do you think about luck?
I grew up in numerous foster homes was on my own at 14 lied about my age and got my first office job at a company in San Francisco that is still operating today I would go in early to learn all
I could and then over my life kept getting better jobs and top jobs I worked in Hawaii Texas Va New York and Ca and in 1985 decided to be an entrepreneur and my strengths are people skills, marketing, pr I did govt contracting for many years assisting small business owners as a entrepreneur as I learned the skill while working for the govt for five years in a top position I also
