Daily Inspiration: Meet Latasha Fennell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Latasha Fennell.

Hi Latasha , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my business, Boss Lady Bling Blingy Jewelry & Accessories early January 2019, I began by handcrafting one-of-a-kind jewelry and accessories from my home, pouring love, bling, and creativity into every piece. It was basically an online store and local vendor setups.

But after retiring from 25 years of honorable service in the U.S. Navy. I decided to go full-time because I always had a passion for fashion and helping others feel confident and powerful in their own skin.

What started as a passion project has grown into a full-blown brand. Today, I run a boutique located inside the San Diego Made Factory, where I create custom Blingy Blazer Jackets, statement bustiers, and unforgettable jewelry & unisex accessories.

I’ve been honored with multiple awards, featured on magazine covers, received the titles of Ms. Elite Southern California 2024, currently holding the the title of Ms. Elite WOA International 2025 also recognized as a global changemaker and humanitarian. I even wrote a bestselling book, From Combat Boots to Blingy High Heels, sharing my story to inspire others.

My mission now is to empower veterans, women, and dreamers to embrace their shine, step into their purpose, and make their mark — bling and all.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — running a business takes grit, faith, and a whole lot of hustle. As a veteran stepping into entrepreneurship, I had to learn everything from branding and marketing to inventory and financial management. I was very good at inventory & financial management due to my Logistics Specialist military experience.

But I went from a structured military life to the unpredictable world of business, where every decision rested on my shoulders without a team to help me out. I was literally a 1 WOMAN TEAM!

One of my biggest challenges was getting people to understand the value of custom, handmade work — especially in a world flooded with fast fashion. I’ve also faced moments of burnout, self-doubt, and the financial rollercoaster that comes with being a small business owner.

But despite the obstacles, I kept showing up — for myself, for my purpose, and for my community. Each struggle taught me something new and made me stronger. I’ve learned to pivot, to stay true to my vision, and to trust that my uniqueness is my superpower.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m the founder and creative force behind Boss Lady Bling Blingy Jewelry & Accessories, a boutique brand where fashion meets purpose. I specialize in custom, handcrafted jewelry, accessories, and bold fashion pieces like Blingy Blazer Jackets, Diamond Push-Up Bustiers, and statement necklaces — all designed to empower women to shine unapologetically.

What I’m known for is one-of-a-kind, blinged-out fashion with meaning — every piece tells a story, celebrates individuality, and is crafted with intentional love. I also create custom military retirement jackets and unique designs for veterans, which bridges my passion for fashion with my 25 years of service in the U.S. Navy.

I’m most proud of how I’ve been able to use my platform to inspire, uplift, and give back — especially to fellow veterans transitioning into civilian life. My work has been recognized with multiple awards, magazine features, and even a #1 bestselling book, From Combat Boots to Blingy High Heels, which shares my journey from service to style.

What sets me apart is my bold vision, deep purpose, and the personal connection I have to every piece I create. I’m not just designing fashion — I’m creating confidence, healing, and transformation.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I’m a small-town country girl with big blingy dreams, born in Memphis Tn. but was raised in a small town called Anthony Quarters right outside of West Memphis Arkansas. I reside here in San Diego Ca with my son Trenton Fennell who also works behind the scenes in the business.
