Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisette Archer-Barber.
Hi Lisette, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I love to acknowledge that everything that I have experienced in my life leading up to the birth of Illuminating Crossroads contributed to its creation. I began to consciously focus on my spiritual evolution and work on healing traumas within myself in 2017. Just as many of us, there were so many things from my childhood programming that was causing friction with my external world. Creating this illusion that distorted who I was at my core. I began to study and learn tarot while also working with crystals to support my healing process. At this time, I was living in Vegas, and I felt stuck and tunneled visioned in where I was at presently. My partner and I came up with a list of 5 places we wanted to move to, and San Diego was on that list. Shortly after making the list, maybe a month later, we got the window of opportunity we thought we would have to wait years on. Both of us would have jobs in San Diego so we could move with ease. At that time, I was a Project Coordinator with Fuse Technical Group as I have my Bachelor’s in Audio Production. That was in Fall of 2019 we move to San Diego.
In January of 2020, I got a reading at Mama Roots, and the reader brought to my awareness the triple moon goddess Hecate. The archetypes of the maiden, the mother, and the crone were highlighted for me. I did endless research on Hecate, Persephone, and Demeter. I was so fascinated by their stories and the symbolism within each story. Afterwards, Hecate begin to pop up everywhere for me. I started to become more fascinated with archetypes. I got Kim Krans The Wild Unknown Archetypes oracle deck and began diving deeper. The theme of this decent into the underworld into my on psyche kept coming up. At the time, silly me, I thought it was a physical descent that I had to take, but now I see it was a spiritual and psychic descent.
In March of 2020, like many others, I was placed on furlough with my day job. I had not mentally prepared for that as I loved what I did. My job was like a child to me. It was tough, and to make things harder for my partner and I we found out we were pregnant in April. Sadly, in May of 2020, on my birthday at 8 weeks. I began bleeding, and we had a miscarriage. This left me confused as my body, mind, and spirit were preparing for this transition into the full embodiment of this earthly mother archetype but just like that, just as my job had gone away, so had this potential of us having a child left too.
At this time, I continued to dive deeper into self-study and truly nurture myself. I grew close with the archetype of the moon and sun. I came to this point of reflection on my life up until this point. I had started many things or had many things, yet everything would always seem to end, go away, or I didn’t find true happiness in my surroundings to carry things out. I began to put focus on the synchronicities between each experience. That’s when the magic began to happen. I started to shift my perspective of the things I experienced. I asked questions that pointed me to the why and diving deeper into the symbols that were presenting themselves to me.
When I flipped the polarity of the sun and the moon it illuminated the key for understanding and experiencing by embodying. I would say up until that point I was much more logical and sometimes still can be but when I had this knowing in experience and truth. It changed everything. I continued to follow synchronicities and my intuition.
I used to attend a Tarot and Tea meet-up in Carlsbad when I first moved to San Diego. There was a lady in the group who brought Reiki to my awareness. I had tried to find a Reiki Master after meeting her but had no luck. In Fall of 2020, my guides told me to go to Soul Scape. I was confused because I knew if I went, I would spend money, and that was the last thing I needed to do at the time. However, I said fine and went on my way. When I arrived, to my surprise on the bulletin board outside, there was a flyer for a Reiki 1 Training! I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was finally time for me to embody this technique to use as a support for my experiences that had left my light dim.
I honestly just continued to follow the breadcrumbs. Which in Summer on 2021 lead to the official birth of Illuminating Crossroads. I had other business names in the beginning, Ready Sette Zen, Zen Flowerchild, but neither of them worked out. This name those was the one I had been waiting on. That summer I reflected on everything that I experience the past year as it was so much! I realized that each moment, each choice is a crossroad for us. Some are larger than others, but each choice brings us to a shift.
That is why Illuminating Crossroads is so important to me, and I wanted to share it with others. When I allowed for illumination, unveiling, and surrender to occur in my life it was life-changing for the better. I want to support others with just that. To be a conscious catalyst to support in others’ growth.
There were many other things that happened along the way, but I believe those were big moments for me. Now I am a certified Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master Teacher and a Sound Practitioner. I love sharing my knowledge and experiences with others to allow them to know we are never alone, even when it might seem like it. I am here to support in the reminder that the divine is always mapping out an unlimited amount of perfect paths for us to take if only we just trust and follow the breadcrumbs. Our lives are not mazes but labyrinths waiting to be explored by us with love, light, and joy.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I do believe I happened to answer this question within my first question. lol
There have been many lessons along the way. Many moments of being scared to share or questioning my worth. Really having to come to this space of detachment and trust. I’m still working each day to allow for trust in my journey personally as well as in the growth of Illuminating Crossroads.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in energy healing by utilizing Reiki and Sound. I’m most known for the sound baths that I offer, as I like to create an experience where everyone gets to partake in together. My favorite sound baths I host are the gratitude sound baths. Each person shares before we start so everyone may receive from a more opened heart space. I’m most proud of putting myself out there and sharing. I can be shy and unsure sometimes, but I feel like with the sound and Reiki I have no expectation. It just flows nicely if I trust and have a heart full of gratitude in my offering. I like to think my ability to be thoughtful in my offering, and my wittiness sets me apart. I love to be playful and create a joyful experience that makes it seems a little less serious than we think it is sometimes on spiritual journey.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I love technology! It’s truly been one of the joys in my life, as I love how so many parts and things can come together with the collaboration of our fellow humans and the technology that is created.
