Hi Lori, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello! My name is Lori Jillson, the proud owner of Kendall Grace Events. As a wife and mom of two (who are now 19 & 15), my passion for creating stylish and fun parties began right at home. As our kids were growing up, creating fun and magical moments for them became one of my greatest joys. From birthday parties, holidays to graduations, I found myself always searching for unique ways to celebrate them and making them feel super special. And now, I want to bring that same joy and creativity to other families and friends to help them create their own memories to cherish.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting any business has it’s challenges and I knew that going in. Still, I felt a deep sense of purpose behind what I wanted to create, and that gave me the confidence to jump in with joy and excitement. From the beginning, I believed in what I was offering which was creating meaningful and special moments for people to gather and connect (which is important to me). Even though there are many similar businesses out there, I’ve always trusted that what I bring to the table is unique because it comes from the heart. I’m incredibly grateful for those who have trusted me to create something special for them.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My background was in corporate for about 20 years before stepping away to raise our kids. I later transitioned into the health and wellness industry, which I’m still passionate about today, helping people on their journey to better health. Stepping away from corporate gave me the space to reflect on my gifts and how I could use them to create something meaningful and that’s where Kendall Grace Events comes in. While I specialize in creating beautiful boho-style picnics and gatherings, what sets me apart is the heart behind it. It’s not just about creating a pretty setup, but about crafting an experience where people of all ages feel connected and celebrated. I’m most proud of the joy I see when one of my clients walks into a space I’ve put together for them…it is truly rewarding.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned on this journey is to trust the process and lean into my God-given purpose, even when the path feels uncertain. Stepping away from corporate life to raise our family and then into the health and wellness industry taught me the value of following my passions and using my gift to serve others. Starting Kendall Grace Events reinforced that lesson. It showed me that success isn’t just about doing something well, but about creating meaningful experiences, connections and believing in yourself! I want to be a positive role model to our children (they are always watching btw) My faith has been a constant source of strength and guidance through it all. I’ve learned that when you lead with authenticity and heart the right opportunities and people will show up. It’s not always easy, but knowing that I’m walking in God’s purpose for my life has made all the difference.
