Hi Maile , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Looking back on my childhood, I can see that my fascination with all things beauty started early. Whether it was nails, hairstyling, makeup, or experimenting with colorful hair, I was always drawn to it. I remember tagging along with my grandma to her office before school, walking from desk to desk, offering French manicures with little floral designs to the secretaries. In high school, my friends would constantly ask me to do their hair and makeup for school dances, quinceañeras, and sweet sixteens. I loved every moment of it. My own hair was a canvas—over the years, I rocked everything from magenta and purple to chocolate brown and golden blonde balayage, always experimenting with new colors.
It wasn’t until my senior year when my hairstylist suggested I consider beauty school to learn more about color that I truly saw my passion for beauty as more than just a hobby. That conversation ignited something in me, and I realized I could turn my love for beauty into a career. I haven’t looked back since, and every day I’m grateful to be doing what I love—transforming not just hair, but confidence and self-expression.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has certainly had its share of ups and downs—just like any career, especially one rooted in passion. There have been plenty of challenges along the way, from searching for a salon that truly reflected my style and values, to navigating the uncertainty of the 2020 lockdown. Throughout it all, I found myself craving more for both my business and my clients. After a lot of trial and error, and growing alongside some incredible mentors and peers, I teamed up with one of my closest friends in the industry to open our very own salon studio in the heart of North Park.
Now, I’m able to pour my heart into every client experience, offering custom color and luxury hair care designed to make each visit a true self-care retreat. It’s been a journey of growth, resilience, and finding my true calling—and I couldn’t be more excited to continue creating beauty, inside and out, for every client who sits in my chair.

As a blonding specialist, I specialize in transforming naturally dark hair into high-contrast blondes, creating rich, luxurious brunettes, and crafting custom red tones that feel as unique as my clients. My focus is on providing lived-in, low-maintenance color that not only boosts confidence but also seamlessly fits into busy lifestyles. I believe that beautiful hair should be effortless to maintain, leaving you feeling gorgeous all year round—whether you’re juggling a demanding career, school, or the busy life of a full-time parent.
What sets me apart from other stylists is my commitment to detail and truly listening to my clients’ needs. While we all dream of a hair transformation that may feel out of reach, I pride myself on offering solutions that are both stunning and practical. I’ll always take the time to understand your vision and lifestyle, ensuring that you walk out with a custom color that’s not only gorgeous but also easy to maintain—so you can feel beautiful and confident without the stress of constant upkeep.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned on this journey is to not take things personally. With rising costs, shifting trends, and people moving away, I’ve come to realize that not everyone will always be able to book with me, and that’s okay. I’ve learned to deeply appreciate every single person who has ever trusted me with their hair and supported my business along the way.
I also understand that I have a gift—one that allows me to help people feel their best. In a world where beauty standards can be harsh, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to feel beautiful in your own skin. That’s why I’m dedicated to making every person who sits in my chair feel seen, heard, beautiful, and truly valued. The world can be tough and unforgiving, but I’m grateful that I have the opportunity to make someone’s day a little brighter and their confidence a little stronger.
