Today we’d like to introduce you to Malia Gerold
Hi Malia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my Pilates journey about 13 years ago. I had been an athlete throughout my childhood and high school. After college I was missing movement with purpose and connection. I took my first Pilates class and was hooked! I received my certification from The Pilates Institute of Southern California after a year long program and have been teaching ever since! I love helping clients regain their strength and feel their best no matter where they are in their physical journey.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Early in my career building clientele was a slow process. I remember waking up at 4:00AM for early clients and working late. My schedule was all over the place and I had to be flexible to build my business.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Pilates instructor on a mission to bring back strength, mobility and movement to my clients through classical Pilates. I believe Pilates should be both, challenging and rewarding. Once you start to incorporate Pilates into daily life, you begin to connect to your body and move with more intention. When you are connected to your body there is less pain, injury and you achieve amazing results. My goal is to help maintain stability, strength and longevity through movement. Just because we grow older each year, doesn’t mean we have to “feel” old.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Spending time with my kids and husband. We love traveling, camping and local Beach days.
