Daily Inspiration: Meet Maren Hoflund

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maren Hoflund.

Hi Maren, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I remember in middle school giving massages at sleepovers was really when I first began thinking about massage therapy as a career. I decided to pursue it seriously in 2020 after receiving my AA in Child Development. I knew the college route wasn’t for me and I felt like massage therapy would “check all my boxes” so to speak and it did! It took me about to two years to finish the 1000-hour program while I was working full-time, and I immediately began building my clientele and working as soon as I was licensed.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was definitely not a smooth road. Going to school where we had to touch each other and be in close contact during a pandemic was not ideal, along with other challenges in my world. But I met so many intelligent, kind and compassionate people while studying that I look back on my journey with gratitude for the connections made, the growth I experienced, and the fact that I was able to succeed during a time where the odds weren’t entirely in my favor.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a certified massage therapist and holistic health practitioner. I specialize in therapeutic bodywork and favor cupping as a modality for helping others heal. Additionally, I offer custom herbal blends, reiki, sound healing, and I am currently creating an offering of somatic bodywork for trauma survivors.

I am most proud of my clients who have trusted me with their body, their stories, and their time. These clients who are especially committed to their own healing create the space for me to ensure they reap all the possible benefits of massage. These same clients are the ones who have the most success in their goals during our sessions and live as proof that massage works, and I made the right choice by joining the health and wellness world. To expand on that, the real results I am able to help my clients see and experience is something I believe sets me apart from the average therapist.

What does success mean to you?
Broadly, I define success as accomplishing what I have set out to do. In the context of massage and bodywork, success is finding the root of the problem for the client and creating a plan to solve said problem. Over time as the plan is executed and the problem dissolves or becomes manageable for the client, the sense of accomplishment grows for me.

Pricing:

  • 1-hour relaxation/therapeutic massage is $110
  • 90-minute relaxation/therapeutic massage is $162
  • 1-hour cupping is $121
