Daily Inspiration: Meet Margierick Lim

Today we’d like to introduce you to Margierick Lim.

Hi Margierick, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started doing Powder brows and Microblading back in the Philippines year 2019 but here’s how it started, I was living abroad for seven years, I lived in Dubai and then moved to Japan this happened right after college as I wanted to be independent and help the family too. I was working as an IT assistant for an automotive company, It’s not really what I wanted to do because I always wanted to be a Make-up artist but back then, I just didn’t see it as a career.

Then finally after seven years of working abroad, I finally gave myself a chance to pursue what I really wanted, I remember saying to myself that before I get married and moved to US, I need to do one more thing for myself and that is to pursue my dream of entering the Beauty Industry. and I did I enrolled to a Semi-permanent Make up class in Manila, and when I got here, I took more training I did Microblading at PHIbrows and Powder Brows at BeautyAngels Academy in Los Angeles.

After that, I started my own business by renting a small room shared with another Lash tech, it was doing great even with covid and the pandemic. Then I got pregnant, I was put on bed rest and have to stop for a while. I was nervous that I might lose some clients. But Four weeks after giving birth, I went back to work. I become more inspired to work as I have an added inspiration in my life, my baby girl Chloe. luckily, I got more clients than I did before.

These 2022 things are getting better and better in my career, I’m currently an Esthetician student at a school in University Ave. a few more weeks and I’m done and ready to take the state board to offer more services to my clients. I’ll also be moving to Sola Salon in Southbay this March 2022.

I’m just extremely grateful to My Clients, My Husband Raymund for always believing in me and supporting my dreams. My friends and family, you’re a big part of this blessing!

I’m currently a mom, a wife, a student and a business owner. Just Believe you can and you’re halfway there!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s quite challenging when I was starting cause when I moved here in the US, I have to start from the bottom literally ZERO clientele and not many relatives aside from my husband which I would say the biggest challenge for me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in anything EYEBROWS; I love doing Powder brows. I honestly don’t feel like working; I enjoy every bit of it. My client’s smile and reactions after the procedure is the best for me it motivates me to be better in doing what I’m doing.

I think what sets me apart from others is that I know, and I let my clients know that every day and every client is a learning process for me. I listen to them, I listen to what they want, what they think I need to improve, what they like the most about the process and what they expect in the future. Because for me, that is the way to be successful in what I do. This is not a regular 9-5 job my client’s experience is the most important part of this process.

I make sure that my clients are my walking advertisement because I believe that one good eyebrow can give you a hundred more eyebrows!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is the holidays, Christmas and New Year is always a big deal to any Filipino household. Christmas starts the moment the BER months starts. My family and I would go shopping, watch movies, exchange gifts and eat together. I cherished that the most since I haven’t been able to do that much since I started living abroad.
