Daily Inspiration: Meet Megan Sacco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Sacco.

Hi Megan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I attended Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School in Temecula and graduated in December 2011. After that, I worked behind the chair for seven years, specializing in color and cuts. In January 2019, I welcomed my baby girl into the world and made the decision to become a stay-at-home mom. While I absolutely loved being home with her, I started to miss the creative fulfillment that came with doing hair, though I knew I didn’t want to return to traditional salon work.
Around that time, a friend reached out and asked if I’d be interested in helping with a wedding. I had always enjoyed the styling side of hair, so I said yes and ended up falling in love with bridal hairstyling. From there, I began doing weddings here and there, gradually refining my techniques. I’ll admit, I wasn’t great at first but I was eager to learn and grow.
Then COVID hit, and everything paused. During that time, I got pregnant with my son and started planning my own wedding. I welcomed my son in June 2021 and got married the following month, in July.
A few months later, I began joining bridal teams and officially started building my own bridal hair business. Being part of those teams was an incredible experience, it gave me the chance to improve my skills, collaborate with other stylists, and discover my personal style. I gravitated toward boho-inspired looks, braids, twists, and beachy waves are my absolute favorites.
Fast forward to now, 2025, I’m still part of a couple of amazing bridal teams, but I’ve also been booking more of my own brides. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of having someone choose you because they truly love your work.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building a business is no easy task. Putting yourself out there, making connections, and getting your name out—it takes time and effort. One of the things I struggle with most is staying consistent on social media. Keeping up with posting, trends, and algorithms can feel overwhelming.
But every time I am consistent, I see amazing results—so I know it’s worth it.
If you have any tips for staying on top of your social media game, I’d love to hear them! 😊

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m all about the boho, beachy hair vibes, think effortless twists, textured braids, and soft beach waves. These styles are my specialty, and I’m especially known for my beach waves, signature twists, and high messy buns. Lately, the high messy bun has become a personal favorite, it’s a style I’m really proud of. I get so excited every time a bride shows me that look as their inspiration photo!
What truly sets me apart as a bridal hairstylist is my attentiveness and attention to detail. I’m someone who double (and triple!) checks everything, and I’m always punctual, you can count on me to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. I genuinely care about my brides and go above and beyond to ensure their day runs as smoothly as possible.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
How could you not love San Diego? The weather is incredible almost year-round, and we’re lucky to be close to the beach, mountains, and desert, all just a short drive away. My family and I love spending time at Fiesta Island and La Jolla Shores, and we’re big fans of off-roading adventures in the desert with our Jeep.
If I had to pick one downside to living here, it would definitely be the housing prices, they’re no joke!
