Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Zurich
Hi Michael, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Blossom Valley Detailing was established in November of 2021. I retired from the Navy after 28 years in 2013, worked as a Marine Engineer for ten years and started the business after realizing I was tired of working as an engineer and driving to naval station.
I used my VA benefits and attending professional detailing academies in Orange County and Big Bear Lake. I trained under two nationally renowned detailers and honed my skills at my shop.
I specialize in paint correction and ceramic coating but we do all aspects of vehicle detailing.
Today the business is fully run from our shop in Blossom Valley which is located half way between El Cajon and Alpine.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My biggest obstacle is the same today as it was in the beginning and that is marketing and advertising. I work hard trying to market the business to get customers to the shop and trying to advertise on a budget to get the most money from the ads.
I still struggle with getting customers to come down to the shop and keep customers for follow on service.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As I stated prior, I spent 28 years in the Navy and retired in 2012. I worked for the Government as an Engineer for five years and worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding as their West Coast Manager for five years.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the fact that we have great weather which helps my business as we can plan to work on cars and not be shut down due to weather.
