Daily Inspiration: Meet Michelle Glazier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Glazier

Hi Michelle , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I fell in love with makeup years ago when cheering professionally in the NFL for the Oakland Raiders! Makeup knowledge and application was extremely important to the Raiders, so much that we attended special camps geared towards hair, makeup and etiquette training. As a professional cheerleader, meeting and greeting members of the public, appearing on T.V. and performing with full face glam was expected! I have taken the knowledge from my past cheering experience, plus years of experience in the bridal industry, to continue glamming faces in San Diego.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The beauty industry is an everchanging one, so adapting current trends is critical to staying relevant in this business. I am a working mom, I am running my business and I work as a paralegal, so making sure that I am able to do my research, apply new techniques and test new products can be a struggle! Most days, rather than juggling, I feel like all balls are in there air with no hands to catch. Time management and prioritizing has been challenging at times, but it always somehow works out!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work as a bridal makeup artist in San Diego. My application is one geared towards soft bridal glam.

This year, I was so honored to have been selected as 2024 San Diego’s Best Makeup Artist. There is SO much talent in San Diego, so just to be nominated was such privilege.

I have a HUGE personality, so I feel that one thing that sets me apart from other artists is my ability to adapt to awkward situations, laugh and just have fun. Weddings can be so stressful, so if I can apply makeup and help alleviate some of that stress through humor, I’ll do it!

What matters most to you?
Outside of business, the most important thing to me is family. I live, breathe and work so much because of my family. My ladies are 16 and 17, are involved in travel softball, so when they have a game, I do my absolute best to be there. If I cannot be there, I stream games (God bless Game Changer)! Time with my girls is so important. They are only young once, and time is something that we just cannot get back. My husband and I try to center all we do around the ladies, and be their biggest supporters.

Regarding business, what matters most to me is that my clients are happy, that I have met their expectations, and that I have helped to create some special memory to store in that wedding day memory vault. I am the first vendor they see day of, so it is important that day starts off with a bang!
