Hi Silvana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began in graphic design at the University of Buenos Aires, where I explored various creative paths. Simultaneously, I undertook diverse independent projects—designing lamps, crafting candles, mastering bookbinding, creating handmade paper, and delicately molding porcelain into timeless pieces of art. 

Amid the fusion of art, crafts, sports, and working with porcelain, my true passion emerged: capturing my personal journey through travels. In 2012, I founded June, initially focused on creating romantic leather shoes for women. The year 2018 marked a pivotal moment as I delved into the world of clay experimentation. 

Now rooted in San Diego, I have wholeheartedly embraced my role as an emerging artist, reflecting my ongoing creative evolution. June, my definitive venture, intricately weaves the essence of travel—movement, experimentation, transformation, and learning. It embodies my design philosophy for women, characterized by determined steps, shared values, and a profound commitment to purpose. 

I adeptly intertwine the realms of design, shoe manufacturing, and handmade porcelain artistry. A significant milestone occurred in 2023 when I continued designing shoes but also delved further into the realm of porcelain, expanding my artistic horizons. 

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Embarking on the journey of entrepreneurship isn’t a simple path—it’s a road filled with challenges and self-discovery. Discovering your identity in the business world is no easy feat, and once you find it, presenting it to the world for validation is another uphill climb. 

Navigating as an entrepreneur means facing uncertainties, making tough decisions, and constantly evolving. It takes time, introspection, and a willingness to explore different avenues. 

It requires courage and resilience to put your authentic self out there, knowing that not everyone may understand or appreciate your vision. Despite the challenges, the journey itself is a valuable teacher. Every obstacle, every setback, and every triumph contributes to your growth.

I discover my strengths with each creation – whether it’s crafting a new design, illustrating, or capturing a moment through photography. My aesthetic lies in the romantic realm, blending minimalism with the evident touch of handcrafting. I’m proudly self-taught, and my artistic journey finds expression in various forms, from home decor and tableware to coffee cups. Interestingly, it all began with crafting rings. 

What brings me the most pride is my unwavering commitment to trying, regardless of financial outcomes. I persist because I always find the deeper meaning in why I’m pursuing my craft, and that, to me, is a source of immense satisfaction. 

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is the ability to communicate without words through designing shoes or creating pieces in porcelain. It serves as a means to showcase oneself to the world and establish connections with others, transcending cultural and language barriers. The profound significance lies in the fact that through art, I can express my unique perspective and share my point of view.
