Daily Inspiration: Meet Sina Hajhassan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sina Hajhassan.

Hi Sina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began working at 16 and have since been exposed to a variety of industries, including retail, real estate, financial planning, photography, and both B2B and B2C sales.

Once I discovered my passion for communicating and connecting with people, I began interning at two different public relations agencies during my senior year at UC San Diego. These internships were incredibly valuable early on and helped me forge a solid foundation for a career in PR.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic hit just as I was about to complete my second internship before I graduated. That’s when I pivoted to a front desk role at a local medical spa, where I quickly transitioned to the corporate marketing team through internal networking. From there, I transitioned back into PR, landing a position at a boutique agency specializing in various industries, including local non profit communications, government affairs and advocacy.

I learned so much along the way and felt proud of what I’d accomplished — and deeply grateful for the people who believed in me. Then one day, I received a LinkedIn message from a recruiter at a national PR agency who was interested in bringing me onto their B2B technology accounts team in the San Diego office. I was elated. With my employer’s blessing, I accepted the offer and stepped into a new chapter, continuing to grow and refine my PR experience at a larger scale.

Outside of PR, I also launched a career coaching service during the pandemic — inspired by my own experience hiring a life coach who encouraged me to start my own brand. As someone who has worked across multiple industries and navigated a non-linear path, I realized I had valuable insights to share with others looking to do the same. I’ve been fortunate to receive invitations from my alma maters, College of Marin and UC San Diego, to speak on panels and share my journey with students and young professionals. It’s been a privilege to grow my coaching brand and support people from all walks of life. Volunteering and helping others is a huge part of who I am — and coaching allows me to do just that by helping folks find clarity and confidence in their career paths.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While I’m grateful for the professional wins and growth I’ve experienced, there have certainly been bumps in the road.

Beyond navigating the career disruptions that came with COVID-19, I’m currently in another transitional chapter, actively exploring new opportunities. This season of job searching has challenged me to refocus on my purpose and identify the right organization — and people — to grow alongside. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and I trust that this part of the journey is setting me up for something meaningful.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As I mentioned earlier, I’m both a PR practitioner and a career coach.

My PR experience spans media relations, brand and reputation management, advocacy, PR strategy, event planning, social media, copywriting and more. One of the things I’m most proud of is landing national business media coverage for former clients in outlets like Bloomberg TV, the Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Fox News and many more.

As a career coach, I curate customized plans and strategic recommendations that align with people’s goals while highlighting their strengths. I’ve worked with individuals in a range of industries — from STEM to communications — and helped them land roles at major companies like Cisco.

What sets me apart in both PR and coaching is my innate ability to listen deeply, understand people’s needs and provide thoughtful, personalized support. In my opinion, getting along with people and truly appreciating them — for who they are and what they’re capable of — is one of the most important parts of any profession or relationship. That’s why I love what I do and why I always strive to create meaningful, human-centered connections in my work.

How do you think about happiness?
Stories, experiences and people make me happy. Without them, life would be a blank slate — no color, no history, and no context for what happiness really is.

Through stories and experiences, we learn how both the wins and setbacks shape us. For me, it’s the past trips and moments with loved ones, milestones at work, and the friends and family who have positively influenced my journey. These moments are precious, and I’m endlessly grateful for them.

Whether I’m leading public relations campaigns, managing brand reputation, or guiding college graduates and seasoned professionals through career transitions, my purpose stays the same: to build authentic connections, amplify impact, and help people move forward with clarity and confidence.
