Today we’d like to introduce you to Sohaib Arshad.
Sohaib, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my Instagram page as a car blog for my Bronco—hence the name ‘1904bronco.’ It began as a way to document my adventures around San Diego, and because I never wanted to gatekeep the incredible places I visited, I shared exact coordinates so others could enjoy the city’s hidden gems too.
As the account grew, so did my vision. I realized I wanted to share more than just my car—I’ve always had a passion for creating content that sparks conversation. These days, I still post unique spots, but I’ve expanded to feature everything from local food joints to cool new businesses and all things San Diego.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the challenges I’ve faced with this account is upsetting people by sharing hidden gems. Some locals prefer to keep these spots under wraps and aren’t too happy when they end up on my page. I’ve even received threats for simply posting locations. But at the end of the day, we live in one of the most expensive cities in the world—I believe everyone deserves a chance to explore and enjoy everything San Diego has to offer.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
By day, I work remotely in sales for a Chicago-based fintech, clocking in from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. I’m constantly closing deals and giving it my all—because when the workday ends, I can fully dive into my true passion: exploring new places and sharing them with others.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
In my free time, I’m hooked on audiobooks—they’ve become a big part of my personal growth journey. One that had a major impact on me is Unf**k Yourself (pardon the language). It opened my eyes to a hard truth: no one’s coming to save me—I’m in full control of my mindset and my daily actions. Other books that have shaped the way I think and operate include How to Win Friends & Influence People and The 48 Laws of Power. Each one has helped me level up in different areas of life.
