Hi Stephanie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Hello, my name is Stephanie. I was born in Chula Vista and raised in Tijuana, Mexico.
I started my project, Merak Jewelry in March of this year. The motivation that made my start my own business was the need to be able to manage my own time and have more freedom to enjoy life. I work part-time as an Interior Design administrative assistant in La Jolla and part-time for Merak.
I sell my jewelry at flea markets around San Diego, on Etsy, and my Instagram page @merak.jewel

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Taking the risk to be an entrepreneur is not an easy decision, but when it is something, you love and are passionate about, the reward will be inevitable. You need to have the discipline to work hard, even when you are not getting paid or don’t have someone checking on you.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Even though Merak is a new project, San Diego/Tijuana locals have been very supportive in every event I sell.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe the most important characteristic to success with your business is discipline. Work hard have small goals that lead to a bigger one. Be focused and enjoy every step of the process
