Daily Inspiration: Meet Suzanne Borel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Borel.

Hi Suzanne, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m Suzanne Borel, owner and lead designer at Flower You Beautiful. My journey started with a simple love for flowers and plants—they’ve always been part of my life. Twelve years ago, I followed that passion and began designing wedding and event florals. What began as a small dream has blossomed into a business that fills my days with beauty and purpose. I’ve grown with every event, and I still feel honored each time a couple trusts me with their special day. No two weddings are the same, and I love creating floral designs that reflect each couple’s personality, style, and love story.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges in this business is the physical demand—working long days on my feet, often 10 hours or more, especially in the two days leading up to an event when all the floral arrangements are being created. It takes stamina, focus, and dedication.
Fortunately, getting clients has never been a problem. I approach every event with care, love, and close attention to detail. That level of commitment shows in my work, and it’s what keeps clients coming back and referring others. It’s hard work, but it’s deeply rewarding.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What I enjoy most about being a florist is the creativity and variety each event brings. No two weddings or celebrations are the same, and I love designing arrangements that reflect each client’s style. It’s rewarding to see everything come together and know my work helped create a beautiful and memorable setting.
What sets me apart is my personal approach and over a decade of experience—I’m hands-on from the first consultation to the final setup, ensuring every detail is handled with care and professionalism.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband is truly my biggest supporter. He’s always there to help—loading, unloading, and stepping in however he can. On the long days when I’m on my feet for hours, he takes care of meals and makes sure I’m supported in every way. When I start to doubt myself or my designs, he’s the one reminding me of my talent and passion. On top of all that, he’s also my best promoter—always sharing my work, cheering me on, and talking about my flowers with pride. His support means everything to me and plays such a big role in the heart of my business.
