Daily Inspiration: Meet Yaileen Gamiz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yaileen Gamiz

Hi Yaileen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started in the Real Estate industry as a newly licensed Realtor in August of 2021. Before becoming a Realtor, I was a Certified Nursing Assistant full time and a full time student at Southwestern Community College aiming to get an Associates in Nursing with the plan of transferring to a 4 year university. As a new agent, you come into the industry thinking you’re going to sell many houses in a month and everything will workout but… that’s not always the case. It took me around 7 months to get my first sale and it all sky rocketed from there. I had to constantly be working on myself, have a vision, look to God and continue providing world class service to the people that work with me. I have now been licensed for 3 years and it has been a rollercoaster. With discipline, persistence, God and a good team to support me I have been able to grow and build my business throughout the years. My team and I recently made a switch to a company called ” The Agency”, we are the fastest growing luxury brokerage in the industry. We also just came out with Season 2 of our Netflix show – “Buying Beverly Hills”. Being a part of this company and the Pompeyo Group has been a privilege. I have had the chance to surround myself with top producers, host multimillion dollar open houses and be part of some of the biggest sales. Real Estate is a daily grind- you have to be willing to show up with a grateful mind every day no matter what!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Real Estate has definitely not been a smooth road. My very first year was very difficult – I was struggling financially, working every day, hosting open houses every weekend, looking for clients to help. Starting off was probably one of my biggest struggles. I had never been self employed before nor sold a house so it was nerve-wracking. I didn’t have a mentor to guide me in the right direction – so it took me a little bit longer to start my journey. This is a relationship based business and I had just turned 19 years old when I started, I didn’t know anyone that would be ready, willing and able to make the biggest purchase of their lives. With time- I was able to start building a social media presence that made people know me, like me and trust in my abilities to guide them in such important process and eventually this led to my first few sales. My daily routine consist of going to the gym every day, prospecting daily, growing my business and social media presence. This has helped me build the confidence I have now and build relationships that have helped me 10x my life! I don’t believe real estate becomes something “smooth” but with the right mindset, attitude, experience and a clear vision its definitely something that can get easier!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a local Realtor in San Diego, California. My main focus is on residential real estate-both, buying and selling! My experience in the industry has taught me that every transaction is unique – I’ve been able to better my negotiation tactics to be an asset for my clients in any market. My knowledge in the housing market and contracts – relationships with other agents and the additional experience my team provides, helps me position my clients in a better place when it comes to negotiating on their behalf. I pride myself on the first class service I provide whether working with first time home buyers or sellers who have bought and sold multiple times; my goal is to always put them first and make sure they’re needs are not only just met but exceeded at the time of closing the deal. My previous experience in the medical field taught me the importance of listening to what people are concerned about or excited about, It has also taught me how to work with grace and be patient while also being firm. I truly believe my previous experience separates me from other agents because it has shifted the way I used to think. It’s always about my clients, what they need, how I can guide them to reach their goal, etc. When I work with clients I genuinely search for their best interest!

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
My ultimate favorite book to read is my bible- its such a clear blue print on living fruitful life. I also really enjoy reading self development books such as: Awaken The Giant Within by Tony Robbins, Atomic Habits by James Clear, Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. I also really enjoy listening to podcasts such as : The Ed Mylett Show, Wealthy Way by Ryan Pineda andThe Ninja Selling Podcast! A few other resources that help me move forward is attending Women’s Prayer at my church every Tuesday. It has become a non-negotiable in my life and has helped me go through my day without focusing on the things that aren’t going as expected!
