Today we’d like to introduce you to Zack Campbell
Hi Zack, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve wanted to be a DJ as far back as I can remember lol. When I was 12 years old, my parents got me a small Pioneer DJ controller. Not long after that, I got into producing music, and this is where I came up with the name “sike.”. I played my first show at 15 where I met a sort of mentor figure to me that still shows me the ropes of the industry to this day (shoutout DJ IDeal and Danksa 🫶). Its only been up from there with more and more bookings and opportunities coming throughout the years.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Around this time last year, I went through a breakup that took a toll on my mental for a while, but we back and good, everything has only been up since then. I feel blessed and grateful to be where I am now.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I make Uk dubstep, 140, garage, hardgroove, and many other genres. I guess I’m most known for the energy I bring to my live sets, we only drop facemelters here. I’m most proud of how much I’ve grown as an artist and a person throughout the years.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
To be completely honest, I dont feel like luck plays a huge role in it. I mean yeah, there gonna be a lucky moment where you meet someone important in the industry, but It all really comes down to how much you wanna work for it. Theres no free and easy way to do it, it takes hard work and serious dedication.
