Exploring Life & Business with Jessica Beamon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Beamon.

Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
People ask me this question all the time, and I giggle because I have loved having a camera in my hand since 8th grade-early high school (for reference, I am 27). After taking a few classes in school, I knew I loved it. My sixteenth birthday, my dad got me my first DSLR camera. I would photograph a lot of sports and then I started photographing family and family friends.

Through the years, I would upgrade my equipment and find videos online to educate myself on camera settings and guides for photoshoots. I finally gained confidence to start booking paid sessions, and my most popular bookings at first were senior sessions. Once I started college, I got a job as a student photographer for the marketing department. I took photos of events, sports, portraits of professors and employees, etc.

After college, I kept pursuing photography on the side wile I worked as a nanny full time, and then eventually found my way down to San Diego (I’m from Clayton, CA). Now being in San Diego for a few years, I have built my photography foundation and with a lot of hard work, I am so blessed to be busy with so many bookings. And I have so many amazing clients and supporters to be thankful for.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
When I first picked up a camera, I never would have imagined being in the position I am today. Over the past year, I worked really hard and pushed myself to get out of my comfort zone to be as busy as I am. No, it was not easy, and I am still learning and growing.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a San Diego-based photographer specializing in Couples and Weddings. I do offer travel to my clients because I love to be out and exploring new places, especially camera in hand capturing love.

The most common feedback I receive from my clients is fair pricing for the amount of images they receive and the timely turnaround of galleries. I offer almost any kind of photography services such as couples sessions, proposals, engagement sessions, weddings, elopements, civil ceremonies, family portraits, seniors, maternity sessions, newborn, announcements, etc.

How do you think about luck?
I feel lucky every time I book a photography service. I work so hard to build my brand and portray my work in a way that will attract people to booking sessions with me.

Every person, every couple I work with, I am so filled with joy from being able to photograph them, in whatever session they are in, and to be able to capture love and provide images that last a lifetime! I’m LUCKY to meet and work with such amazing people and clients!

Pricing:

  • Couples sessions starting at $350
  • Weddings starting at $1,800
  • Elopements starting at $850
  • Engagement sessions starting at $350
