Today we’d like to introduce you to Albert Yanez II.
Hi Albert, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Rx Rehab and Performance started with one clear mission: to offer a more complete and personalized approach than what I experienced in traditional chiropractic and physical therapy models.
As a lifelong athlete, I dealt with my share of injuries, but everything changed at age 20 when I severely injured my back. I had tingling and weakness down both legs and was told by an orthopedist to stop all physical activity indefinitely. That didn’t sit right with me, so I searched for better answers — and found relief through chiropractic care.
In just a few months, my symptoms resolved. But the care I received felt limited — just adjustments, with no roadmap for getting back to performance. I tried physical therapy next, only to encounter the same problem: generic protocols with little personalization. That experience left me hesitant and unsure about returning to the activities I loved.
That’s when the vision for Rx Rehab and Performance began. I wanted to build a clinic that combined individualized treatment with strength, movement, and real long-term solutions. Fast forward to today, and we’ve helped hundreds of people across San Diego get back to living pain-free using our 3-phase system built around outcomes, not visits. I’m incredibly proud of the results we’ve seen — and how different it is from the status quo.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting a practice that challenges the traditional ‘quick-fix’ mindset — especially as a cash-based model — came with a lot of uphill battles. In a world where people are used to chasing symptom relief or relying on insurance to guide their care, offering something different meant I had to constantly educate, communicate, and lead with value.
There were moments where it felt like I was speaking a different language — trying to help people see that real, lasting change takes time and intention. That’s not an easy sell, especially early on when I was doing everything myself — from treating patients to answering phones to making content at midnight just to get the message out.
I’ve had moments of real doubt — wondering if people would actually invest in this kind of care, and questioning if I made the right decision. Emotionally, it’s heavy carrying the mission forward when you believe in it so deeply but feel like you’re still trying to convince the world it’s worth it. But those hard seasons shaped me. They helped me become more resilient, more confident in what we do, and more connected to why I started this in the first place.
What’s made it all worth it is the people we’ve been able to help — the patients who trusted us, showed up, committed to the process, and got life-changing results. Their success is what fuels us. And now, the message is finally growing louder. In San Diego, we’re starting to see that this model — rooted in outcomes, not just visits — is becoming more accepted and expected. That’s incredibly humbling, and we’re just getting started.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Rx Rehab and Performance is a rehab and chiropractic clinic built around one core belief: that people deserve more than just temporary relief — they deserve long-term solutions that help them move better, feel better, and stay better. We specialize in helping active individuals, athletes, and everyday people who are tired of quick fixes and want a personalized, lasting approach to getting out of pain and back to doing what they love.
What we’re known for is delivering results where other approaches may have fallen short. Many of our patients come to us after trying traditional chiropractic or physical therapy and still not feeling fully recovered. That’s where we come in. Our care is rooted in a 3-phase process — Correct, Advance, and Optimize — designed to address the root cause of the issue, rebuild function, and then progress patients all the way back to high performance. It’s not just about getting out of pain — it’s about staying out of pain and moving with confidence again.
What sets us apart is that we don’t treat symptoms — we treat people. Every care plan is customized based on a patient’s goals, lifestyle, and performance needs. And because we’re a cash-based clinic, we’re not limited by insurance constraints or generic protocols. That allows us to provide real, intentional care — with time, attention, and education that actually drives change.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is that we’ve created something that feels different — in the best way. From the moment someone walks in, they feel it. It’s not a clinic that rushes people in and out. It’s a place built on trust, results, and meaningful relationships. That’s the culture we’re creating — and we’re excited to keep growing it.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is impact — real, lasting impact in people’s lives. Helping someone get their life back, whether that means returning to their sport, picking up their kids without fear, or simply waking up without pain — that’s what drives everything we do at Rx Rehab and Performance. I’ve been on the other side of injury and uncertainty, and that experience shaped how I show up as a provider and what kind of care I believe people truly deserve.
But beyond that, what also matters deeply to me is seeing chiropractic used to its full potential. I want to see a shift in how people view this profession — not just as a place to get adjusted, but as a front-line solution for injury recovery, performance, and long-term health. We have so many tools at our disposal — manual therapy, movement, strength, rehab — and I believe it’s time the standard of care reflects that.
What we’re doing in our clinic is a small piece of that shift — helping people see that chiropractic can be comprehensive, strategic, and results-driven. And I’m proud to be part of a movement that’s changing both expectations and outcomes for patients.
It’s time chiropractic became a first stop, not the last resort.
