Hi Alexandra, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started cosmetology school in 2008 at Gene Juarez Academy in Seattle, Wa. When I moved to San Diego, Ca. in 2014 I again followed my dreams and enrolled for the second time at Paul Mitchell the School San Diego. I graduated and received my state license for California. I have always loved the beauty industry and the freedom it brings to be creative, successful, and to continually be a #foreverlearner! I have had the pleasure to be able to do many, many interesting and fulfilling opportunities in cosmetology, including runway shows, music videos, independent films, magazine shoots, live award shows, you name it. I was even published prior in #sdvoyagermagazine for my work with hair while I was at Jayden Grey Salon in La Jolla, CA.
Fast forward to a few years, I found myself yearning for a change of scenery and wanting to expand my knowledge in this wonderful beauty industry. As the pandemic of 2020 was upon us and no salons and spas were open, it was the perfect chaos and time for me to expand on just that. I took a HUGE leap of faith and put lots of my savings into higher education yet again. This time I was EXTREMELY interested in something I had heard very little about if only just a whisper among my colleagues. Now it is becoming very mainstream, but again put faith in myself and went to Broadway Skincare Academy for my body contouring training as well as my training thru the #hyalaronpen. I am now a certified body contouring artist and trained injections specialist. It was a whole new world inside the industry I have already come to adore. I then opened my very own shop March 2021, no longer under any management but myself.
I learned that even though this is an extreme blessing, it also means 24/7. The more you put in the more you get out. I had zero clients to start and built literally from the ground up during a pandemic. Some may say I am totally crazy, and that is most like]y an accurate statement, however, if you don’t believe in yourself then who else will? I am happy to say although challenging it is completely worth it. Not only do I still get to help people feel and look their best, I can truly help them achieve the body of their dreams and with no downtime as plastic surgery does. Our procedures can totally transform those stubborn fat areas or cellulite that no amount of exercise seems to cure. It can help start your weight loss transformation, or finish those last 5 pounds. We also do anti-ageing services whether you want more natural needless injections, or radio frequency facials, we have the best most up to date procedures to help clients achieve their specific desired results. We are a family at Body Goals San Diego and we just want to help clients look and feel their best. I am truly grateful for all my clientele who has helped my new business venture grow! We will have our 1 year anniversary March 2022.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I started this business from zero so there are still learning curves and bridges to cross. Some advice I can give is to find mentors who you admire or can help you grow as an individual and become the best version of yourself. Find mentors in all aspects to keep you grounded for business, professional, financial, and personal. You can thank me later. :]
We’ve been impressed with Body Goals San Diego, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a boutique medical spa that specializes in body contouring services, anti-ageing services, and non-invasive injections. We use the hylaron pen (NO NEEDLES) to do our lip injections, wrinkle fillers, and body sculpting injections. We have a very specific approach to our procedures and each client is treated with respect. Each guest has a specific result they want to achieve so it’s important every guest has a complete consultation with a road map on how to achieve that goal. There is little to NO DOWNTIME in our procedures which makes life a little easier. You can continue with your day to day unlike plastic surgery. It is extremely affordable compared to plastic surgery as well.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Helping others gives me a sense of pride and it is a genuine high that can never be compared. To see people fall in love with themselves again and knowing I helped them look and feel their best is the most rewarding feeling I have ever experienced.
