Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Norfleet.
Hi Amy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in San Diego, living in many different areas, as we moved around a lot. Growing up was a struggle for me, to say the least, with a lot of fear, trauma, abuse, neglect, and addiction.
I still managed to find ways of having fun in my own little world for a while. Being outside in nature was always my comfortable place. The ocean, the trees, and the plants were my friends.
Eventually, my world became smaller and led down a path of my own addiction. I knew that life was not for me, and luckily, I ended up in recovery. This quite literally saved my life and opened me up to a life beyond my wildest dreams.
Leading me to a beautiful path of self-love, healing, and practices that I use every day. The Universe saw fit to place the most incredible humans into my life. I found meditation energy healing and eventually got back to my roots with plant medicine. This has brought me back to the innate abilities that I always knew were there but just needed to be ignited!
There is an evolution here that keeps going, and I am open to it all.
I will always be grateful for recovery and the people who I choose to surround myself with today.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I did not have guidance growing up and had to figure out a lot of things on my own. I built up walls because I was afraid of people. Being hurt and abandoned was always in the back of my mind. This caused me to push everyone away, even though I truly care about people. It was very confusing. While I have had many struggles externally, how will I eat, sleep, survive, etc., the biggest struggles have been the internal ones. The struggles of self. Finding my way back to myself has truly been and continues to be a gift.
As you know, we’re big fans of Unity Pharms. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
Unity Pharms is, essentially, a movement. A place for all things Natural Healing. A space for people to discover their own ability to heal themselves.
I am an Herbalist, Reiki Master/ Teacher, and Meditation Guide.
I grow medicinal herbs and make herbal extracts, salves, balms, teas, and more. I offer private Reiki sessions, teach Reiki, and offer Guided Meditation to people and businesses.
I am proud of the fact that I make my Tinctures with only fresh plant material, I harvest and dry all herbs by hand, I use the folk method of slow extraction for all of my products, and I never use any chemicals. I also use Regenerative Agriculture practices to help heal our soil. I believe if we heal our soil, we help heal our people.
I think what sets me apart is that I am not in competition with anyone. I give away all the free information that I can so that others can feel empowered to begin their own journey towards healing. And that I am always learning.
All of my Herbal offerings are available online, and people can also book sessions with me there.
This is an ever-evolving company. One of the goals is a bigger farm where we will be building a space for people to come out, learn about medicinal herbs, meditation, and other healing modalities, hold retreats, and commune together. So, every purchase, session, and service goes to fund this vision.
Even if just one person learns to heal themselves, that, in turn, helps others. Like the pebble in the pond, it ripples out and touches other lives. This is the goal.
How do you think about luck?
I feel lucky all the time. Especially lucky to have such incredible people in my life who have taught me so much. And most of all, the power of love, gratitude, and recovery.
