Today we’d like to introduce you to Ann Heizer.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
60 years in a paragraph? OK here goes: Born in Johannesburg, South Africa and presently in Oceanside, CA. I’ve lived in San Diego North County for almost 30 years, yet people think I just got off the boat when they hear me speak!
Always active, gymnast at school and trampoline competitor and judge, I’ve always been active. At 18 ~ started attending JAZZERCISE in the local church hall, and in 1987 traveled to America to become internationally certified.
Making the trip annually to the IDEA International Convention, until I stayed (THAT is another story)
Teaching group fitness and personal training, since I turned 60 last year, I now specialize in Functional Movement and Senior Life Enhancement. My passion is to Change the WAY people Age ~ and the very paradigm itself!
I overcame a seven years depression that I never thought I would make it out of alive, and I used my Movement Methods and program philosophy to do this!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am an independent movement and functional aging expert. My brand is Change The Way You Age and I turned 60 in 2021. My passion is to change the paradigm of aging. My Methods of Movement are targeted at those over 50 who are “Exercise Dodgers’ yet know they need to move ~ but don’t know where to START…
I am most proud of EMBODYING my Brand and being able to exemplify what it looks like to Change the Way You Age and have FUN doing it as I enter the 60-70 demographic.
I go live on my personal Facebook page every Wednesday at 9am Pacific, and I have a youtube channel of the same name where you can find my 2020 Summit where I interviewed my most respected colleagues.

My offering is a 15 minute free video visit on Zoom or phone call for more information and see if we are a good fit for:
The 90 Day Journey to Change the Way You Age in which I will be your personal in-person or online Guide.
We will spend 40 mins, twice a week on our Journey, with your UNIQUE goals and “muscle memory” as our focus, along with worksheets, phone support and more ~ YOU WILL dramatically increase your Quality of Life starting NOW!
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
There were many people along the almost 30 year way, who GOT what I was on about and encouraged me, however I had some work to do around belief and deserving, so it’s taken longer and I am ok with that. Robert Raymond from Achieve Business Systems has been on my back for 25 years to launch my programs and never gave up on me even though I gave up on myself for about eight years in my early 40’s and went down a long black well of my own digging. AKA known as an extended depressive period that I did not think I would make it out of alive.
A couple of close, long-term friends and my family back home in South Africa were of critical support during this time.
Funnily enough, it was my work to Save the Rhinos that finally made me realize just how awesome I AM when I launched a calendar in 2016 and raised money (with my bum on the cover) ~ receiving some notoriety in the process.
In the past WEEK, my video has garnered a lot of interest in the industry ~ so I am excited to see myself soar in 2022!
No problem being a ‘late bloomer’ and ready to turn Sixty into Sexty.
That being said, I would love to thank photographers who have taken gorgeous pictures of me ~ pro bono: Robert O’Neill, Thom Vollenweider. Michael Peak and Tom Smith ~ all of San Diego
