Exploring Life & Business with Annalyssa Romanban of RoyaltyNailsSD

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annalyssa Romanban.

Hi Annalyssa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always been into beauty since I was in middle school. I loved doing my hair, makeup and nails. I was first doing makeup but I started to get into nails because I would get my nails done all the time and I wanted to do my own to save money. I soon started doing nails and ended up falling in love with the idea.

My mother encouraged me to go to beauty school at city college to become a nail technician. I completed the course and passed my state board exam. I soon started to do nails from home but Covid hit. I lived at my mom’s house and she was starting to feel unsafe with people coming to her house due to Covid. I stopped doing nails and she mentioned to me why don’t start doing press ons for now. She got the idea from tik tok, it started to become a trend. I started practicing and loved the idea way more than doing acrylics at home because I can now ship orders to supporters and friends who are out of state. I started my own business called “RoyaltyNailsSD” August of 2020.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Business was good when I first started but during the middle, it was slow. I was just promoting my business on Instagram so I needed to find other ways to promote my business. I than started to promote on TikTok which helped a little bit more. I would say trying to branch out is one of the hardest things I struggle with til this day. Our family is slowly but Shirley growing, I noticed the more I post, the more followers I would get. Posting has to be a consistent thing/everyday thing to help your business grow.

As you know, we’re big fans of RoyaltyNailsSD. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
RoyaltyNailsSD is my business. I am a Press On Nail Small Business Owner. I specialize in press on nails. All my press ons are hand-painted that are very durable and feel like acrylic. I am most proud of my growth in painting. I was never really a drawer or painter so seeing my growth on painting on small canvases is what I’m most proud of. I’m most proud of my business growth and how well-spoken I am to customers to provide a good service. I am an affordable press on nail business. A lot of nail techs have been raising their prices throughout Covid. I know my worth when it comes to my work but I also want it to be affordable to others who may not be able to afford $100+ nails.

What makes you happy?
Seeing my press on nails on my customers when they send me photos because I accomplished something and it makes me happy to see my customers enjoy and reuse their press ons.
