Hello, we are Candice and Wyatt we are excited to share a little slice of our journey to becoming vacation rentals owners! As young adults, my husband and I traveled often and found so much happiness in staying in unique vacation rentals around the world. There’s something truly special about vacation rental owners, we all come from different walks of life, each bringing our own story and personality into the spaces we create. Our background is in emergency medical services, we enjoy serving our community in that way and also dreamed of becoming homeowners. We worked hard, saved diligently, and eventually purchased our first property through word of mouth. It was in pretty rough shape when we found it but with grit, determination, and a whole lot of love, we transformed it into what it is today: a cozy cabin experience by the sea, designed for guests to relax, recharge, and create unforgettable memories.
Boho A-Frame Vacation Rental represents a joyful transition for us from being world travelers to now welcoming fellow adventurers! Hosting allows us to share the kind of meaningful travel experiences we’ve always cherished ourselves. We believe a vacation rental can be so much more than just a place to sleep. It can be a space to truly connect, unwind, celebrate special occasions, to experience the local community in a deeper way, and to enjoy the home just as much as the surrounding area. It’s incredibly important to me that our cabin feels like a destination in itself that’s just as memorable as nearby attractions like Morro Rock and Montaña de Oro State Park.
Whether you’re planning a romantic anniversary getaway, celebrating a birthday, marking a milestone, or simply gathering for a much needed escape, our cozy A-frame is the perfect setting for life’s special moments. There’s something magical about sleeping beneath the A-frame’s pine ceiling twinkling with soft starry lights, cozying up fireside with someone you love, or unwinding in the warmth of our barrel sauna after a day of California’s central coast adventures. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road to get here but I’ve never been someone who backs down from a challenge. If anything, challenges light a fire in me. Boho A-Frame Vacation Rental was my pivot after being seriously injured while working in emergency medicine, I was no longer able to continue in a career I was deeply passionate about. It was a difficult season, and I had to reimagine what my future would look like. That’s when Boho A-Frame became more than just a project, it became my new beginning. I turned my love for travel and creating meaningful guest experiences into a new profession. Over the years, I had learned what truly makes a trip feel smooth, special, and unforgettable, now I get to pour that knowledge into creating amazing stays for others.
The property itself was quite the undertaking! We truly bought a fixer-upper in every sense of the word. It hadn’t been renovated since the 1950s, we had to navigate evicting tenants and the home had been deeply neglected. To say we had a renovation ahead of us would be an understatement! But putting in that sweat equity; long days, late nights, and countless design decisions has been a rewarding experiences. I’m so grateful we were able to completely reimagine the space and customize it into the cozy, character filled retreat it is today for our guests to enjoy.
Renovating takes time, energy, and yes, it’s a serious investment but it’s also exhilarating and incredibly satisfying. Seeing the transformation and now being able to offer a beautifully refreshed property with fun amenities like our barrel sauna and the charm of a cabin, makes every bit of effort worth it. So while the road here had plenty of twists and turns it makes me truly happy the property gives me an opportunity to connect with people and create a wonderful experience to share with you!

What sets us apart is the level of detail and consideration we bring to your vacation experience. I’ve traveled extensively and stayed in vacation rentals all over the world, I understand firsthand what makes a stay seamless and what can quietly frustrate guests. You won’t arrive to find a coffee maker without filters, an empty spice cabinet, or a long checklist of chores before checkout. I believe vacations should feel like a break, not an errand or task list. No one wants to spend their getaway buying basic essentials like seasoning or coffee supplies. We intentionally stock and design the space so it’s practical, comfortable, and ready for guests to walk in and enjoy fully in that moment.
Our cabin itself is something I’m incredibly proud of. It’s not just a place to stay, it is the experience. With its unique character, cozy fireplace, hammock chairs, and relaxing barrel sauna, the cabin is designed to feel special, memorable, and inspiring.
Brand wise, I’m most proud that we’ve created a space that feels both elevated and approachable, fun, cozy, warm, and thoughtfully curated. It shows in guest feedback too, one guest said “you can tell so much thought and care went into the place.” Another guest said my wife and I have stayed in vacation rentals all over the world, “ this one was one of the few that we actually wanted to spend more time in rather than exploring the surrounding area. It was absolutely spotless and designed perfectly, unique and fun. Candice was an amazing host and everything was thought of ahead of time.” Those guests kind feedback are exactly what I’m hoping to curate for everyone who stays with us!
Beyond the cabin itself, I love connecting guests to the area in a meaningful way as well. I share recommendations for hidden local gems, scenic spots, and delicious restaurants that visitors might not discover on their own. I want our guests to feel like they’re experiencing the area the way a local would.
Ultimately, what I want readers to know about my brand is this: I care deeply about the details because the details shape the entire experience. Our goal isn’t just to provide a place to sleep, it’s to create a stay that feels easy, joyful, and unforgettable, the type you can’t just help but share about with others!
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
For me, the best way to do your best in life is through personal experiences, by trying new things, embracing failures, and celebrating successes. I don’t rely heavily on blogs, apps, or podcasts, though I do lean on one book: the Bible. It has been a steady guide in my personal life, don’t worry, I’m not a religious meany, ha. I especially love its themes of loving and nurturing others from all walks of life.
But beyond that, I’ve found the most growth comes from getting out there, staying curious, and actively engaging with the world. Networking, building community, and diving headfirst into challenges have taught me more than any resource ever could. I’m the queen of biting off more than I can “chew,” and figuring it out as I go has been where the real lessons and the fun happen.
I’m so grateful for everything I’ve learned along the way, from the incredible people I’ve met from so many walks of life with so much to learn from, to the diverse experiences that have shaped me. The world can be so divisive these days and I’m just so stoked to have gotten to learn so much from doing things and meeting people first hand. Life is messy, unpredictable, and full of surprises, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
